Myles Garrett does nothing for me. He will be 30 during this next league year. I love our youth and the heat they generated on QBs during the end of the season. I think something special is being built here.
Are you serious, nothing? LMAO.... Ok, I love our defensive line, but you are talking about a DE that is basically a defensive player of the year candidate year in and year out. If defenses had to plan for him and Verse, fuck we'd by far have the best DE combo in the NFL hands down. Young is up to get paid soon too so there's that. If we get Stafford back, that would be an all in move for sure
You'd not only improve the pass rush but the run defense as well. The only thing that I find as a legit reason to say no is based on the draft compensation involved. Think them rose colored glasses are obscuring the vision there lol. Here's his stats just so you can see how dominant he is already without a Verse.

He can ask for a trade all he wants but it's not likely one happens.

Honestly put it up there since the news cycle is slow and he did ask for a trade. I usually just talk about why any player that becomes available can be an asset to us if its a good one. I'm also aware that 99% of the time it won't go down. The 1% hope always comes from Snead having the balls to pull off monster trades. Not saying this is one that is likely to happen but Snead always makes it slightly more possible.

Great player but this seems like a non-starter for a team like the Rams.

Also, if you take a look at his contract, it seems pretty clear that Garrett wants a new deal; and, furthermore, the cap ramifications to the Browns could be extreme.

I have mentioned numerous times that the Rams will need to swallow a $10M cap hit on Joseph Noteboom this season under a Void Year. Looking at Garrett's contract, it shows the Browns having multiple Void Years (beginning in 2027), with amounts that toal around $40M ... YIKES!

Well ya never know lol..... plus aren't you the one that mentioned that cap hits aren't that big in the first years of a contract? Lemme dream a lil too hahaha...I'm just talking about what an all in move it would be to get Garrett. You wanna talk about improving the D line to an unimaginable level? Teams wouldn't be able to double Verse nor Garrett. They'd cause fuckin havoc. The Browns definitely fucked themselves with that Watson move tho because of the cost plus him sucking bad. That's why they now have Garrett wanting out. Gonna be interesting to see how far Garrett is willing to go to get off of the Browns.

Wasn't a shot at you sorry if it came across that way. He can be traded but if they trade him the Browns become the Saints 2.0 in cap hell and no QB.

Nah no worries, I didn't take it that way. I just love discussing everything out there and I love hearing everyone's take on the matter. You post some great stuff on here plus by adding the tidbit about the Browns situation, it gives the story way more depth into how the Browns have essentially screwed the pooch. The question for the Browns are do you eat the cost and get picks to rebuild or do you somehow try to make Garrett happy (not sure they can cuz they can't win) with some off-season acquisitions? Love watching other teams drama unfold....ours not so much lol

Very True

Sometimes ... Depends how the contracts are structured.

Lemme dream a lil too hahaha ..
Of course. My Bad. Enjoy.
If I was not allowed to dream when viewing the Boobie and Booty threads, I would be very angry.

Seriously though, I need a dash of Reality on all-in moves. This doesn't seem realistic to me.

For me, the Rams trading their #1 pick plus something to the Jets for either Garrett Wilson or Sauce Gardner; and then giving that player a $100M-plus deal would qualify ... and ... just maybe ... would be a realistic dream.

When I say "a realistic dream", I mean like me and the brunette on page 147 of the Booty thread; whereas, me and the blonde on page 231 of that thread is just NOT (unfortunately) realistic in any dimension or universe.

Worst run NFL organization in the past decade ... and, THAT is saying a lot.

That's why they now have Garrett wanting out. Gonna be interesting to see how far Garrett is willing to go to get off of the Browns.
Disagree. I think it is mostly about Garrett wanting a new deal.

I really do think Garrett wants to play for a contender or at least a better organization than the Browns. No matter where he goes, if he's traded of course, he's gonna get a new contract and get paid.

Maybe but is that just your gut-feeling?

The reason I said it's about wanting a new contract (I don't know) is two-fold.
First is simply that things often come-down to money.
Second is his contract. That's why I suggested you take a look at its details.

Garrett's 2025 salary is $1,255,000. He has another $3.7M in Other Bouns, which I assume is guaranteed.
That total is less than $5M. That appears to be his 2025 cash-pay-out. That is nothing.

It can be difficult to fully understand contracts; and I am no expert but I try to understand a little bit.

Cap hits are not necessarily guaranteed-$; or do they necessarily represent the cash pay-out that year.
Stafford's current 2025 cap hit is $50M but his cash-pay-out is $27M which is low for a top-tier veteran-QB.

Shelton was solid, I would say Dedich showed more upside than Blythe.
He is listed as 6' 2', 300 lbs. He could easily add 10-15 lbs and play in that range.
Im not worried about a little size with a back up player.
Well - I’ll agree in some ways ?

Then again I was an Austin Blythe Fan. It just shows how over time Sean Mcvay does the same thing almost every season.

Back then it was going into 2018 with Austin Blythe as The Rams starting RG,only to go to The Superbowl. So most Ram Fans I’d say ??? Then again it’s just how much disrespect Austin Blythe got as a Player.
-Just look at how he helped mentor say Allen & Shelton.Watch Sunday’s game (sb) think Creed Humphrey actually was part of his beginnings as a NFL Center.
Then to think Austin Blythe just like Shelton were starting Centers(Hags-Bears) .

I hope people aren't suggesting a Myles Garrett trade. He's an insane talent, but we shouldn't be trading two firsts (or more) for a DE who is nearing 30. We have a good DE duo already.

Not to mention pay him and looking at his contract it's a mess of void years option bonuses. Looks like in 2027 there's a $38 million cap hit rolled up for the void years. Like you say the guys a beast but IMO pass on him.

I wouldn't trade 2 firsts and doubt it takes that. I'd trade a first and Young though or a combination of other picks but thats just me. He's just that fucking good. I understand if others have reservations.
