Where did the Bowers thing come from? My memory is mud on this.

It seems like there was never a clear report they wanted Bowers,
The only report I ever heard was that they were trying to trade up for a left tackle.

There was a ton of reporting shortly after the Draft that the Rams tried to move-up for Bowers and Murphy.

There were reports that they "at least" asked the Commodes about their pick because McVay wanted Daniels.
Yes ... BUT ... there's due diligence and "Don't Leave Any Stone Un-turned" VS. Reality.

There is a Behind The Grind segment where McVay and Snead briefly mention calling Washington.
The Rams moving from 19-to-3 to select Daniels, with Stafford on the roster, was not Realistic, in my opinion.

The Rams did make an offer to the Jets (on video and shown post-Draft) to move-up to #11; and, it was almost certainly, for Bowers. There were also a number of credible reports (again, post-Draft) that they spoke with the Saints and Colts (#'s 14 and 15) to move-up for Murphy, who was generally viewed as the top interior-DL.

THE BTG segment shows (as the 1st round was unfolding in real time) how much they liked Verse, and were happy to sit at #19 (if they could not move-up), hoping he would fall to them.

Rumor account so probably just throwing darts. But posting it since I'm sure TST will use it as their own clickbait shortly.

Fuck yes! Just makes to much sense! Loved him coming out of Wisconsin.

If we could use him as the primary in coverage ( which killed us last year) and Speights as more our run support guy we'll be doing pretty damned good.

He's young and healthy in his prime which neither Jones or Bobby Wagner were apparently.

Yes. That was post draft. We were talking about pre-draft rumors. I Wasn’t buying them. There is no way that theRams are telling Shrager their plan days before the draft, or even calling teams and telling them their plans before the draft. Especially since teams talk to reporters and freely give info on what other teams are doing. That would be foolish.

So they waited until draft day at the pick that they felt they may land Bowers, then later with Murphy.

I'm fine with Baun if Bolton's not available.

Yes, I'm still salty we picked Atwell over Bolton, what about it?

I hope it's right. Our defense could really use a difference maker at ILB. Baun is a well-rounded defender. He was one of the best ILBs in the NFL this year. It'll plug a huge hole in our defense. There's some risk to the move, but I trust McVay, Shula, and our scouts to make the right call.

*It's Zack, not Zach.
Indeed, it is dart throwing, but it's someone else's dart throwing.
A guy wrote about free agents, using a football Offseason Manager program.
Because it's too much work to throw their own darts, the NFL Rumors twitter/X account took the other guy's dart throwing and labeled it a "rumor".

The Dart throwing:

Los Angeles Rams: Zack Baun, LB

The linebacker position is always interesting because it allows us to see how teams value off-the-ball linebackers against their other needs. The Rams certainly have a need at linebacker, but they also have other needs at left tackle, wide receiver, and potentially quarterback. They have the cap space to address a few of those needs, but how they prioritize them will be intriguing to see.

If Zack Baun hits the open market this offseason, there are a number of potential suitors. The intriguing thing will be how people balance his amazing year with the Eagles against the fact that it is his only year of starter production. Just based on pure production, Baun is the best linebacker available, but there are more proven commodities.

The intriguing thing about the linebacker market for the Rams is that they have had both Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones on their roster, having traded one away and cut the other. We may not see the outcome, but negotiations with both parties could be intriguing. Baun is the top-ranked linebacker in our free agent rankings and would be a great fit for the Rams to fill their holes at that spot.

Other potential free agent signings: Bobby Wagner, Ernest Jones, Dan Moore Jr., Amari Cooper, and Marquise Brown.

The "other potential free agent signings" at the bottom is probably a tip off as to . . . something.

The Offseason Manager program:
We are less than a month away from the mayhem of NFL free agency, so what better time to look at all 32 teams and who they might be targeting this offseason? With that in mind, we used the PFSN NFL Offseason Manager to play out various scenarios and see which free agents could be in play for each team when the negotiating window opens on March 10.
