Lions are a projected $6M over the cap. They will likely make a couple of cap saving moves and sign a mid level FA and a couple of bargain vets.I looked it up, and yes he has a $69.8M cap hit. Yikes! Even a Pre June 1st trade results in $43M dead cap hit.
Note: They currently have $20M of cap remaining this year and are scheduled to only have $5M next year, and that's with only 38 players under contract. So even with carry over, minus incentives paid out, and adding 15 players to the roster next year paid, they will be lucky to have $5-6M left over for next year. And they don’t have many restructurable contracts, unless they double down on Goff and extend him into the 2030's. His contract currently runs until 2029 FA.
