I have been telling my Eagles fans friends for the last few years that the bill is coming due. They have very few restructurable contracts or players who they can release and actually save cap space. The only guy they can cut and save cap room this year is Michael Carter, and that's only because they inherited his contract from the Jets. The only other way to create any cap is to cute/trade guys post June 1st, but that just pushes more dead cap into 27'.
Howie maxes out a players contract on day one. A number of their highest paid players have base salaries that are less than $2M. AJ Brown still has a base salary of $1.5M, which is why a trade or release accelerates a $43M cap hit if done before June 1st.
They have at least 10 guys, this coming year, on void yrs, who won't be on the roster, but still costs them millions on their cap.
