I was thinking about this yesterday. Bengals shit the bed and go 4-13. They decide to go full on rebuild next year and are open to trading Burrow for Rams 2 2026 firsts, 2027 second and Bennett. To me Burrow and Herbert are the 2 vets I’d want Rams to pursue if they became available.

My kid did this with Mark Rypien at a golf tournament.
He brought a football and got it signed by Dan Marino, Jared Allen and Rypien.
Rypien tossed it once and he caught it threw it back....he then had my kid run a little in about 15 yards and he tossed it, perfect toss, kid caught it. Third time he had him run an out, Rip turned to me and said, "Im gonna put something on this one dad, ok?"....I said sure....My kid starts to turn on his out and Rypien put it on him. He turned and saw it just in time to snag it. Rypien looked at me and said, "Damnit"....then went and gave him a high five and signed the ball.
With Jared Allen just making the HOF I asked my kid where that ball was.....it was now signed by two HOF players and a Super Bowl MVP.....he lost it.
Haha.

I had to turn that game off. The Bengals defense was so pathetic, as was there offensive line. I couldn’t stand to watch it. Couple that with Commodes fans cheering like it was the Super Bowl and you get a game that’s not just annoying to watch but also to listen too.

I posted a similar "Dream" scenario this morning (on the Arch Manning thread); and think a future acquisition is in the Unlikely But Possible category for several reasons. However, I think 2026 is too optimistic.

If Burrow continues to play at a high-level for the next two seasons (likely) but the Bengals fail to compete for a playoff-spot (possible), Burrow will he 30 years old after the 2026 Season, and may want out. The cap implications to the Bengals are horrendous before that point but manageable for 2027.

I likened this scenario to where Stafford was heading into 2021.

One site is advocating for the Rams to acquire Anthony Richardson. No thanks.
