I think the thing that also gets lost with Goff (and I count myself as a fan) is his mental makeup. If Goff just had a killer instinct, a will to win, more confidence in himself, a slightly more gunslinging mentality (he has it when things are going well but then it wilts when consistent pressure gets to him), he could be a top QB in this game even without the Oline and weapons in Detroit (though those are deteriorating).

I'm kinda meh on getting a guy like Goff high in the draft but if you could give me Goff with a 40% more soul stealing mentality, I'm for it.
I think Goff does have a killer instinct and is very competitive internally. It shows through on occasion. And part of the reason it's not outwardly evident is his real issue, which is that he's a slow processor, and there's no amount of anything that can really help with that.

Agree he can also be a slow processor at times!

No. I don’t want another Goff type, if that’s this guys comp.

Give me an
uber-competitive type with elite instincts and the ability to step up when shit around him isn’t working. I’d sacrifice some arm tools if necessary.

If we draft a QB in the top 5 the Rams better feel REALLY good about the whole package.
I'm with you. I strongly prefer a guy with some mobility and an ability to make off-platform plays, but that guy has to be available. We know for sure that if the Rams draft a QB in the top 5 they feel really good about the whole package even if they don't have these particular qualities. It would mean that he's elite in other areas.

Texans win adds some cushion for them moving out of the top ten and stating behind Atlanta.
Also, a Bills loss lowers Atlanta's SOS as well.

BTW, a Rams win on Sunday also adds two Ls to their SOS since the Bucs play Atlanta twice. Thats important because they will likley be tied with multiple teams and the lowest SOS gets the better pick.

The Saints are an interesting case. Tyler Shough looked pretty good in his last start, and a HC who needs to win games. They take 2 from the Falcons its potentially a triple win
1) 2 more losses for Atlanta
2) 2 more wins for New Orleans and a tie break from the Falcons
3) Possibly could deter the Saints from pursuing a QB themselves
Otherwise road games at the Jets and Cardinals may be the only games they can win, and I can see both teams playing to win

They lose out and it's a top 5 pick for sure, and with Cleveland having games against both the Raiders and Cincinnati, its possible to be 2 or 3

Agreed. Seems like they've been waiting for the rook to get to a point where they could start him and he's ready now. He's a rook so will make mistakes, but he's more dangerous than Rattler and New Orleans has some talent with Olave and Kamara. They beat the Panthers in his second game.

Keep saying he had pretty good film coming out. He just was a bit old as a rook and you gotta wonder about the dog in him given that he pulled a Van Wilder. Not an elite prospect but the dude can spread that ball around so here's hoping he shows well vs Atlanta.

Yeah Shough was a popular guy heading to the draft. He just had injury issues plus the fact he's close to collecting social security were big knocks on him.

I loved him as a mid-late rounder. When talk started that he was a 1st rounder/better prospect than Dart, I tapped out....
Its utterly useless information but I find it amazing that he and Rattler have the same birthday, 1 year apart.
Shough being 1 year older while 1 year "newer"
