If he’s hurt, who is going to trade for him?
You're 100% on this
Nobody is trading for him, healthy or not
Taking zero chances, as there is literally no upside to him continuing to play.
They'll release him and eat the 5+ mill of dead $$
Funny thing is, I think he'd be perfect for the Pats

Maybe that’s because he was a second round pick. Media types may overvalue him based on that.

I guess if used differently by another DC he could be more valuable as strictly a box safety type. But that is possibly the easiest position to fill in free agency.
Makes you really wonder why a perfect up close to the LOS SS Rapp played so so deep in the secondary for DC Morris the last few seasons.....

And yes Strong Safeties usually do not get the big pay & there are 100's coming out of college every year.

I keep seeing speculation that someone will trade for him... I'm highly skeptical.

I'd absolutely throw 20 million at Baker for a season before I'd spend 37 on Carr... but, I'm not an NFL decision maker. His contract is easy to dump after one season, though.

Or, maybe a team talks to him about a major restructure before the trade. I guess we'll see. I mean.. two teams traded for Wentz.

Because there usually wasn't anyone else available and you can't have safeties who *only* play near the line of scrimmage in the NFL.

Still Wentz topped out at 20 mill for the team who traded for him. Carr is double that. Same with Ryan, Colts paid him about 12-13 mill, not chump change despite chump play but still.
Time will tell, a team could take the flyer in hopes that Carr will play ball on the contract, after all it isnt guaranteed money so the team would hold some cards but I dont see it.
It would be crazy though because I could totally see Brady with the Raiders and Carr in New England

If I was Carr, I'd be pushing for Washington. They actually have some space, it seems.. and it would automatically be the best defense he's been with.. two quality RBs.. and some stud WRs.
They are as ready to win with a capable QB as any team in the league, imo.

LOL! Terrell Owns cannot be serious. The dude is 50 years old. No chance a WR plays effectively at that age in the NFL. WR is not the same as QB. And what Brady is doing at the QB position at 45 is already unfathomable.

Rapp could help them get a 2024 Compensatory Pick.

He most definitely will be signed by another team. His game is good enough to play in the NFL. We see him every week and know his issues and limitations.

I remember thinking what a good pick he was after seeing him in his rookie season. He had a good nose for the ball and looked good in the box, playing downhill. Each year after he was playing deeper in coverage where he can be hit or miss. As I stated earlier, his limitations are evident to us because we see it every week.

Somewhere out there is a DC that is seeing what you and I have seen and would like to take a shot on a guy who has shown NFL ability and now has a SB pedigree.

I agree

No way should Rapp be playing deep safety.

He is a decent tackler and seems to play well when he is in the box

Maybe have him play deep once in awhile to mix schemes up but I would primarily put him in the box.

I hope someone overpays.

Bill O'Brien was/is a jerk, but maybe he was right about these guys?

Jadaveon Clowney, what's his impact since leaving the Texans? Or even w/ the Texans?

There's also rumors DeAndre Hopkins won't be back with the Cardinals. All he did in Arizona was get hurt and then suspended.

Laremy Tunsil...idk. He's a good tackle that's stayed out of trouble. Got hurt last season, played well this year.

To me, Clowney has always been overrated. Bye bye.
Agreed. Great talent but mostly just a good player ... well over-paid in my opinion.

Flashes, with some big plays but then can be quiet for an extended number of plays.

Nine seasons, yet to have a double-digit sack season. Six or fewer sacks in six of those nine seasons.
