Agreed. Great talent but mostly just a good player ... well over-paid in my opinion.

Flashes, with some big plays but then can be quiet for an extended number of plays.

Nine seasons, yet to have a double-digit sack season. Six or fewer sacks in six of those nine seasons.
His best talent is providing the "Talking Sports Media Heads" more opportunities to use more overhyped words of praise on how great of a pass rusher he is & what he has meant to the game of football bla bla........:sick2:.

JUN 6 2014-Signed a 4 year $22.27 million contract with Houston
APR 14 2017-Houston exercised a $13.846 million 5th-year option for 2018
MAR 4 2019-Signed a 1 year $15.967 million franchise tag by Houston
SEP 6 2020-Signed a 1 year $13 million contract with Tennessee
APR 14 2021-Signed a 1 year $ 8 million contract with Cleveland
MAY 22 2022-Signed a 1 year $10 million contract with Cleveland

Still Wentz topped out at 20 mill for the team who traded for him. Carr is double that. Same with Ryan, Colts paid him about 12-13 mill, not chump change despite chump play but still.
Time will tell, a team could take the flyer in hopes that Carr will play ball on the contract, after all it isnt guaranteed money so the team would hold some cards but I dont see it.
It would be crazy though because I could totally see Brady with the Raiders and Carr in New England
But with QBs, even if they've shown a flash of talent somebody will take a chance on him. Trade for him? Maybe, if they really want him and believe there are others interested. Never underestimate the egos of head coaches/GMs who believe "in my system, under my guidance, this guy will perform well"
If I was Carr, I'd be pushing for Washington. They actually have some space, it seems.. and it would automatically be the best defense he's been with.. two quality RBs.. and some stud WRs.
They are as ready to win with a capable QB as any team in the league, imo.
I think Washington is a perfect place for him (as New England would be @dieterbrock). Defensive head coach. Just don't lose the game for us.
To me, Clowney has always been overrated. Bye bye.
True. But everybody seems to perform better next to Donald.

Clowney also has an impressive head-of-hair.

I think he would put up double-digit sacks next to Aaron Donald but his asking price, unless he would play for around 5 mil, would be too much. And I think Donald and Ramsey could keep him focused. He would certainly solve our edge problem. JMO.

I get it that teams will take a chance on guys, I just dont agree that they'll commit 40 mill guaranteed to a 32 year old guy that isnt a franchise type QB

Who knows. It's doubtful (40 mil guaranteed) but that depends on many things. What bottle Irsay is on at the time!!!! If Mark Davis gets shunned by both Brady and Garappolo! Etc. There are a lot of folks in the media who believe the best place for Mayfield is in L.A. with McVay. That's not going to get him a lot of jack. If he stays, I'll be thrilled like a lot of Ram fans. If he goes, I hope he goes to a team desperate for a QB and gets enough money to give us a 3rd or 4th round comp pick.

Carr's 2023 contract, 33 mill, and 7 mill of 2024 get guaranteed on Feb 15, while the official league year doesnt begin until March. Raiders will cut him in advance of February 15
He's no Matt Stafford that teams will try to meet him in Cabo

Some Seahawks fans were talking about this after the news broke yesterday. According to them clowney is the king of stats you don't see. They said he's a monster in the run game and he doesn't convert sacks but does get pressure. So I could see the intrigue of letting him play next to Donald and Floyd. That is a big and athletic defensive line.

Kind of interesting considering 2019 Seattle had one of its worst defensive squads and still let him walk for a 1 year deal elsewhere

I remember Clowney being a target for the Rams back when we got Dante Fowler.

Sounds like an Indy move. They have a nice high pick to get a QB but no let's trade for a shitter like Carr. :laugh4:

I think Irsay looks rough man. Like he's about to time out. He probably does something like that to try to win now.

He’s 63 and looks 83. What a POS his dad was.

Hard fuck no on Clowney, he’s a cancer and a lazy player who believes his own hype. Don’t want him anywhere near the Rams.
