Let’s vote to see if we should implement a time limit rule for round 4 and beyond.

The rule would be pretty simple, a 2 hour window to make your pick during the prime time hours being (8:00am PST. - 11:00am EST.) until (5:00pm PST. - 8:00pm EST.) The overnight time limit would be increased to 4 hours.

If you do not make your pick inside these windows then that pick become a community pick. Anyone online will get to vote for a player they feel fits that teams needs and once there are 3 votes for the same player that becomes the pick.

There are few issues with a time limit rule that need to be ironed out. 1. All the blokes overseas that are 5 hours ahead and a few are even 12 hours ahead. 2. A point that was brought up in an earlier post, during the evening hours the time limit needs to be adjusted like I’ve mentioned, this is so we have enough people online to make the votes.

The prime time hours that I’ve listed are also up for debate. Let’s get this figured out so we can attempt to complete this draft. What do you say?

Two hours? No way man. Some people work man. There are spans of 3-4 hours at a time I can’t even look at my phone. That’s unfair to probably 80% of the GMs in this. I’m all for changes, but that’s too extreme.

That's very understandable, so what is your vote for time limit or would rather keep it the way it's going now?

FYI @DaveFan'51

Anthony Callway
Callaway was an All-State receiver in Florida, helping powerhouse program Miami Booker T. Washington to a state title as a senior, before agreeing to stay in-state to play for the Gators. He earned Freshman All-American nods for his punt return (28 att., 435 yards, two TD) and receiving (35 receptions, 678 yards, four TD) skills in 2015, starting 13 games. Calloway started 11 of 12 games as a sophomore, leading the team with 54 catches for 721 yards and three touchdowns, engaging his speed and elusiveness and also showing the ability to stiff-arm defensive backs in the open field. He was also the primary punt returner (26 att., 218 yards) and returned an onside kick 44 yards for a score. Calloway has had issues off the field, though. He faced a sexual assault trial between his freshman and sophomore year but was cleared of those charges before the 2016 season by admitting during the hearing he was "so stoned" he did not want to have sex with anyone. He was also cited for marijuana possession in May 2017 as a passenger in a car stopped because the driver wasn't wearing his seat belt; he pled no contest to possession of paraphernalia in July 2017. Calloway never played in 2017 because of his involvement in a credit card fraud scheme with other teammates. Instead of looking for reinstatement or a transfer, he decided to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.

Overview
Make no mistake about it, if Callaway had put together a trouble-free 2017 with even average production, he would be one, big Combine performance away from being one of the more buzzed about talents at the receiver position in this draft. However, his character concerns are at a point where they could derail any opportunity for a career if he doesn't mature quickly. His talent and explosiveness alone give him a good shot at coming off the board on day two and if he keeps it together, he has a chance to become one of the best receivers in this draft.

Strengths
  • Feet are light and electric
  • Exceptional athlete
  • Energetic with explosiveness early in his routes
  • Gets away from press coverage with inside or outside releases
  • Too much to handle on slants and crossing routes
  • Creates instant throwing windows underneath
  • Possesses tremendous pure speed and maintains it throughout his routes
  • Torments man coverage if he's allowed to operate in space
  • Has easy speed to fly past tardy-opening cornerbacks and run wide open
  • Athletic leaper with plus agility
  • Can get them high, low or behind him
  • Gave Minkah Fitzpatrick problems in SEC Championship Game in 2016
  • Scored a touchdown passing, rushing, receiving and on both kick and punt returns
  • Electric punt return talent
Weaknesses
  • Has run into troubles off the field time and again
  • Scouts say he is liked by Florida staff but not trusted
  • Loves to compete on the grass but not as enthusiastic in weight room or film room
  • Lacks strength and can improve toughness when challenged
  • Hands are a little inconsistent
  • Routes can become frenzied and hurried
  • Needs to harness explosiveness
  • Slow getting into his breaks due to lack of hip sink
  • Same issue stalls his change of direction as route-runner
  • Gives away his out-breaking routes
  • Despite talent, just seven touchdowns over his final two seasons
Sources Tell Us
"I just watched him. Really natural athlete and pretty good player but there are just too many headaches to deal with so I can't see us taking a chance on him. Our owner will say no and I don't even think we would put him on our board to be honest." -- AFC team pro personnel director

Ok, so the 2 hour time limit sounds like it's a bad idea. This is why I said "let's vote".

Yeah, It's harder during the day for some. I'm at a computer in an office during the day so I can sneak in and out of the draft. Evenings though we should be able to crank out half the round or close to a whole one, unless people work nights. Honestly, I treat being part of the mock draft as an obligation because I don't want to hold people up and waste their time checking the thread over and over.

The Seattle Seahawks are actively shopping SS Kam Chancellor. The four-time Pro Bowler has been one of the game's top strong safeties, pairing with Earl Thomas to give Seattle the best safety duo in recent years. I'd be looking at picking up an extra 4th or player trade especially TE, OG & OT

He's a WR @DaveFan'51 - lots of off field issues...

Top 10 talent with a ton of off the field issues. But I think he's worth a shot at this point. The reward justifies the risk. He's either going to be a very good/great WR or a very good/great inmate. Not much in between.

I love the on-field production of this guy, and he definitely deserves a flier taken on him, if he gets it together he could have a great NFL career - and picked this late in the 3rd is great! I'm hoping that becoming a father has changed his ways - a great pick @jrry32

The prime time hours and time limit that I’ve listed are up for debate. Let’s get this figured out so we can attempt to complete this draft. What do you say?

T-REX
We've had a 12 hour time limit in the past because we are global so much less than 8 hours probably isn't going to work too well for some. And it can be hard to predict how many picks will be made in different time frames. So although you can leave 3 or 4 names to pick with someone to make for you, 12 picks can rattle off and all 3 or 4 of those names can be gone. It's just the nature of this draft to hit lulls from time to time. We can put an 8 hour limit on picks, request GMs to leave a few names with someone when they know their pick is coming up soon and can't be here to pick, then in the case when time is up, have suggestion made by a member for a pick and get a 2nd and 3rd from other members to validate the pick. That's about all you can do.
