Roster move in the secondary....

I
I see it a little differently. I don't think we can consider Barron a safety at this point at most he is a "hybrid". Rams have been pretty steadfast in calling Joyner a Nickelback. Harder than playing outside according to Fisher. They seem to love him there I dont see them moving him in to a full time deeper safety role. There are packages where he does safety like things, but IMO just Williams being creative. It also certainly looks like Joyner is going to play through the broken toe and didn't look too bad doing it last week. Even with Gaines hurt Williams was inactive on game day, so its not like we are loosing a key cog. With Sensabaugh failing Hill was always going to be the key reserve, not sure how much better Williams would be in that role.

Mo is the starting FS in the base defense and moves closer to the line of scrimmage when our backup FS Cody Davis comes in. TJ currently doesn't have a backup and with the number of 3 safety sets the rams play the rams would have no depth if one guy went down.
Yes we do see things differently its all good for A real good conversation too...:yess:

Nowhere else in the NFL would a tall lanky 6-2 211 pound Mark Barron be considered a outside LB'er other than in a Gregg Williams defense....Barron is a true NFL strong safety in my mind who can play the WSLB'er position in this defense. Even the Rams still call officially name him a Safety not a LB'er but I fully under stand where you are coming from;).

You say McDonald has no back up:thinking:....I would say that our starting strong safety TJ McDonald is backed up by #1-Mo Alexander, #2-Mark Barron & now #3-Isaiah Johnson, looks to me that TJ has some serious great back up in my small mind:whistle:. Heck even Nickle back Lamarcus Joyner played strong safety for FSU for two seasons. Throw in that Coty Sensabaugh is more Nickel than outside corner don't be surprised if we don't see Joyner lining up @ SS at times this season.... when as you state Gregg Williams gets creative:).

P.S. It would be interesting to see just where Lamarcus Joyner did line up in the Seattle game. How many different positions did he play? I could swear he played up close, then way to the side & back then back next to Ogletree, then back deep & yes he even played some Nickle..........I am .

Rams at Bucs; your keys to victory

There's a "Key Match-up" to Watch " Casey vs Dani!" :wow:Seriously!!!:D:D
And then there's the game! I'm looking forward to seeing Williams Turn the Dogs loose on Winston! He likes to pass Turn our pass rush loose, get a bunch of hits and sacks and watch those Turnovers pile-up!
I just think our "D" is going to have a HUGH DAY!:mrburnsevil:
I also look for Britt-Kendricks and Austin to have BIG days!:yay: Gurley Probably ONLY 200+ all-purpose yards!:yess:

Rams must provide season tickets or refunds on deposits for St. Louis PSLs, judge rules

Both statements are true - many sued - most PSLs were purchased under the FANS contract - and the FANS group prevailed in court. Other PSLs (a little under 2000) were not sold by FANS and were instead sold directly by the team. And to clarify- FANS doesn't mean fans of the team - it's a corporation that was a sales agent.

Anyway the FANS contracts were well written and the contracts that the Rams used for the direct PSLs were not. So this judge ruled against 44,000 or so PSL holders here and in favor of about 2,000 - those 2,000 bought directly from the Rams and the Rams lawyers did a craptastic job of writing the PSL contracts.
Yeah - FANS was a corporation that was responsible for selling the PSLs as part of the agreement to move to the Lou.

I'm still not sure that it is a matter of the FANS, Inc. contracts being well written and others not. It depends on what was being presented in the cases. Apparently the three cases were similar enough that they ended up being combined into one. But also apparently, there are two other cases pending - which would explain attorneys choosing not to argue certain points at this time. The Lawyer's credo: Never ask a question to which you do not already know the answer.

Only 2,000 claims are at stake at this point. If the other cases could potentially result in more, the attorneys would be fools to show their hand in this case. Better to get through the other cases then (maybe) use the rulings toward appeal of the others.

We are also assuming that an appeals court will not find that the judge in the case had a bias. IIRR, Limbaugh was involved in some other litigation regarding the Rams and the CVC. Not sure but I seem to recall seeing his name and wondering if he had relation to Rush Limbaugh as he is (again IIRR) from that area. This is just throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks. I have no idea if this will come up or not.

Interestingly, this article tends to indicate that no one is going to get squat even after the ruling. I never trust anything being spewed by that jackhole Ganis so take it for what it is worth. He's been wrong far more than he's been right. http://www.latimes.com/sports/rams/la-sp-rams-psl-lawsuit-20160922-snap-story.html

TNFB: Texans Patsies

And thus the crux. I don't think Fisher led teams do that. They force guys into roles or schemes not suited for what they're talented at, instead of molding what they are good at and adapting scheme around those strengths.

Wait, but isn't that why Jeff Fisher has an aggressive defense, b/c of a talented front 4? Surely he made that unit based on the DL?

Isn't that why they routinely try to get Tavon into space and utilize him as a PR too? Or feeding Todd Gurely?

The Rams' issue has always been instability at QB. And when it was during Sam Bradford, you could tell how they used him too.

Ogletree says there's no concern on Goff

I'm not sure if Goff should start or not
Oh no?

I am so Jealous of the Iggles

usp_nfl__cleveland_browns_at_philadelphia_eagles_85119418.jpg

Of course there are reasons to be excited, as USA TODAY’s Nancy Armour writes adeptly here. Some of his throws were, in a word, perfect. Wentz not turning over the ball is a very good thing, just like his 2-0 record through two games. It doesn’t matter that the Cleveland Browns were one of those teams; would you rather him rack-up two early losses?

No, you wouldn’t.

But even still, football fans have an obligation to view things in context. Wentz completed just 22 passes in the preseason before getting injured. How do you prepare to play against that? Put simply, you don’t. That lack of preparation from the opposition is something every rookie quarterback benefits from, and it’s why we’re still nowhere close to being able to make a call on Wentz yet. Two games is just too small a sample size. Things need time to sort themselves out.

Don’t take my word for it. Some stats for rookie quarterbacks through two games…

Wentz is 2-0 through two games, just like Philip Rivers and Joe Flacco (yay?), but also like Aaron Brooks, Rex Grossman, T.J. Yates,Shaun King, Marc Bulger and — wait for it — Mark Sanchez (oh no).

Meanwhile Cam Newton, Derek Carr, and Drew Brees started 0-2 in their first two games as rookies.

Wentz’s 60.5 pass completion percentage is worse than Matt Barkley,Matt Leinart and Chris Weinke’s through two games.

Wentz has thrown for 468 yards, less than Geno Smith, Patrick Ramsey and Jake Delhomme.

His three touchdowns through two games is one less than Jason Campbell.

His 92.9 quarterback rating is worse than EJ Manuel, Marc Bulger(again), and RG3.

So, reason to be excited? Yes. Quietly confident? Perhaps. Anything more? absolutely not.

Would you trade Saffold to Vikes

I did leave off earlier in my post the fact that this Ram OL has been injury plagued since 2012. No other unit has suffered some many injuries period. Guess most Ram fans would add no other OL'er has been injured more often the last five season than Rodger Saffold too & add to the fact the Rams paid Saffold 8.25 million in 2015 & he only finished four of the 16 games. Saffold cost is close to 6.3 million a season from this yr on. If the Rams really think that they have a chance at a playoff birth you do not trade him.

Football Outsiders through 2 weeks

This doesn't need to turn into another """"Start Goff!!!!"" thread , does it?

What stands out more to me is last years touchdown maker, Tavon Austin is ranked 86th out of 86. I'm not bagging on Austin just yet, but it is disappointing considering how Fisher gushed about his potential touches and backed it up with 42 million dollars.

Its too early to go crazy about the offense, but from my point of view things need to start looking up pretty damn quickly.

Tavon might be the single most overhyped player in the league

Rams lineman: 'We're going to make it easier' on Todd Gurley

Talk is cheap.

The play calling can help this a ton also.
There this one. Boras needs to get his shit together and stop being so fucking predictable. Last week in the stands about 6 or 7 of us were predicting... " run, run, screen punt" or " run, screen, 5 yard hitch or curl, punt"
I hope last week was a wake up call for him because as soon as we started messing up on what was being run next we started gaining yardage and first downs. let's go Boras! :D

Rams need directions to the end zone

“He makes us stand in the end zone and he’s like, “See, this is a football. This is the end zone. This is where you’re supposed to be,’” Kendricks said. “So we kind of laugh at it, but I know he’s kind of serious.

With such a punchless offense they'll be fortunate to win five games. Not sure I get the joke. What is so funny?

“If you were to tell me right now that we’re not going to score another touchdown but we’ll win every game, I’d be OK with that,” Keenum said.

Attaboy Case. Shoot for the stars.

Attorneys: Tre Mason missed court because he was hospitalized

Never heard of them, but that may change things..but then again, a hip hop star having financial troubles isn't rare...It also isn't that rare to sue, just because you can in this country (or potential suit). None of us know the details..not you and not me.

And then the mother of me "myself and I".
