Stuff about Wentz

That's cool. I wasn't trying to convince you that my explanation was the *only* explanation. I only offered one. You thought it was strange, and I didn't. I've yet to hear you offer any reasoning as to why Fisher would be reluctant to start rookies though. I mean, you must have some sort of theory on the matter. I only suggested you might think he's stubborn or stupid or both because you haven't offered anything on your own. You've outright said he's stupid before (and in so many words), so it's not really a stretch for me to infer that it's your line of thinking.

Why does he do it? It's the old school mentality that rookies aren't mentally prepared to play. He wants to ease them in. There are some exceptions.(he generally starts HBs and DBs immediately) Basically, Fisher presumes the rookie isn't ready until he's proven wrong. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. Thing is that most teams presently do the opposite with early round rookies. They presume the rookie is ready to start until the rookie proves them wrong.

Rams vs Bucs condense game

I'm hanging onto the belief that the Rams look like they do because of the limitations case brings to the table. I imagine when goff starts and gets comfortable the offense is gonna look like the one sam ran in his last game with the Rams against the panthers. Man they looked dangerous that game and if it wasn't for drops, bonehead penalties and missed blocking assignments plus losing their cool the Rams would have won that game. I know, alot of ifs. But i believe the team is better now, much better.

So that's what I'm hanging onto so i can stomach the offense right now.

.
I hanged on to that Ram-Panther game, too....until Sam was traded. I agree that they had a chance to beat a really good team with Sam playing well, and all of a sudden the run and pass was synced. Actually that offense looked better than ANY Fisher offense that he had with the Titans....so, ya, maybe we get there with Goff in 2016, but probably more like 2017. Tough to watch with Wentz firing those darts.

Russell Wilson has a sprained MCL

It's hard to believe with how badly his knee twisted it wasn't worse then it turned out to be. He's one tough dude I will give him that. But I've said since day one he won't have a long career with the way he plays. Running QBs never last.

I wish you were right, but he's played 4.3 years already and NEVER MISSED a start or game. Being a running QB hasn't hurt him at all.

Los Angeles Rams Postgame Quotes (9/25/16)

Gurley has been very stand-offish in his interviews since the season started IMO (compared to last season).
Could be nothing but i see it.

I see a ton of frustration on Gurley's face and in his body language. Things just are not opening up for him right now and they likely won't until we get the passing game going (Goff).

Jeff Fisher Postgame Press Conference - 9/25

glad im not the only one that didn't understand the 2 point try. 12 or 13 makes no difference go for 1. maybe they cant count?
The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to make it a 13 point game so that *IF* the Bucs scored twice without us answering, their kicker (who was abject shit all game) would have to hit two extra points to win. He had already missed one (and a FG), so maybe they were just hedging their bets.

Rams at Buccaneers

Tru actually started pretty good...then we changed philosophy's...we were in a tight man coverage...then we started that ole loosey goosey, bend but don't break BS....and Evans went crazy...He's truly a matchup nightmare...not only fast, but strong too...I'd rather have JJ on him...
Joyner...I'm looking at all the young corners around the league...hell, look at Hill...Joyner made some excellent tackles...but he's not a DB...always beaten on the first move...every damn route...he'll always lead the team in tackles...
Thanks @LACHAMP46 it only needs half a step with good WRs and he's gone, we need a CB that can lead the team on INT's ;)

Fisher on Goff's progress (from the Mason & Ireland Show)

With just a little modification, the analogy works just fine. I learned to fly a Cessna 152, but that wouldn't have qualified me to fly a twin engine Cessna w/o add'l classroom time....let alone anything resembling a commercial airliner. Goff came out of an entirely different system in college than what any team in the pros run. There's plenty of classroom learning he can do prior to getting thrown to the wolves.

Has he reached the saturation point for such learning....none of us know. But as much as I am not a particularly strong Fisher fan, he's forgotten more about football than 98% of the hyperventilating fans combined ever knew, and I'll accept his assessment over the latter any day.

Your second paragraph re: Fisher is why so many bad coaches, scouts etc continue to get jobs. Fisher is not and never will be a championship coach. He lacks the ability.

People often confuse experience with ability whereas one's natural ability dictates the range of success possible and experience acts as a modifier.

Jeff Fisher may know more about football but it does not mean he "gets" it.
