How unexpected moves will be evaluated.

I think the OL is in for a very rough start. They will of course get on track, but two depth tackles vs Hutch is very bad. The Center change on top of that means the calls might require Stafford's oversight.

There is a story there with special teams I think. But if we are a team that doesn't take the lead with the new rules (by executing on gameday) I expect Chase will pay with his job. Because plus field position from this rule change is going to be a big deal.

Not worried about ILB because I never put Jones on a pedestal. Median performance is doable if the DL is good as I think it is. And I like Speights.

So slow start possible but I maintain the highest of expectations.
I just hope Reeder doesn't play much but I doubt I will get my wish in the first few games.

Rams fire assistant special teams coach

Dude what's up with your avatar? That shit looks crazy AI generated, wth did you put in there for it to generate that? lol
I don’t remember which site I found it. Maybe it was Microsoft A.I. But you can Google search different A.I art generated sites and type in what you’d like to create.

The text I typed in was Robotic Rams and that’s the image that came up.

Everett was almost a Whiner?

Do you remember me posting that I sang

Ding Dong - the Bitch is dead.

After hearing of her death

I know that's wrong but I really really hated that (I cannot even write the first letter of that word)
Man I must have missed that or can't remember as it's been a while. But, now you got me singing "Ding Dong - the Bitch is dead." over and over in my head. It's a catchy tune!!!

DL Neville Gallimore Joining Rams

Gallimore looked pretty good for Dallas in his rookie year. Maybe they’ve got a culture problem.

He’s got more experience than Durden and was a likely Rams draft target. Durden is on the PS and Murchison is on IR. It’s worth a shot to see how Gallimore performs. He could get cut once Murchison is back. Or, if he stinks then they being Durden off the PS.

Or

They may be trying to hide Durden on the PS to prevent showing him to the league because once Murchison is back they’d put Durden on the practice squad where he could get poached. It’s less likely to happen if he doesn’t play. They may love him and just think he needs more development.
I hope they can get Durden back on the practice squad. I'm guessing Durden lost his spot due to the way Tyler Davis looked when not playing on the nose.

This Gallimore signing shows that they have a type via high motor efforts guys at DT. I like it.

Interview with two key analysts re: Rams’ Outlook

Welcome to Spiralhorn Sound-off, an interactive series regarding the state of the Rams. I’m your host, Armen Dacity, and today I have two expert panelists to discuss the upcoming 2024 season. First, from the Sunshine State of Florida, we have the esteemed Ronald Grump.

Grump: “Hello, Armen, and your esteem is welcomed and expected.”

And, also with us, from the Rams’ home state of California, we have Pamela Barris.

Barris: “Hi!” [laughs loudly]

Let’s start with an overview. What do you think of the Rams’ overall prospects for 2024. Mr. Grump?

Grump: “This Rams team is great…I’d say the greatest ever… and they’ve been great ever since I started supporting them, because my support… you can ask anyone…makes any team great.”

Ms. Barris?

Barris: “The Rams’ have blue and yellow uniforms. And who doesn’t love uniforms with yellow in them? You know?” [laughs loudly]

Is something funny?

Grump: “She is the worst laugher ever… it’s a shame… really….”

Okay, let’s get back on topic. What aspect of Sean McVay’s coaching philosophy do you believe keeps the Rams relevant from year to year? Ms. Barris?

Barris: “Well, the philosophy of coaching, which, as you know, involves being a coach, and doing what coaches do, from a philosophical standpoint, is always relevant to the philosophy that is employed by McVay when he’s coaching.”

Interesting. Mr. Grump?

Grump: “Well I once told Sean… Seany, as I call him… if you want to make a team great again, you have to weed out the old regime, which was really terrible, the worst ever, and do what I do, which, as any will tell you, is great… really the greatest philosophy for success in the world.”

Intriguing. So, what type of season can we expect this year? Mr. Grump?

Grump: “They just need to follow my lead, because wherever I go, people say that I’ve made things better for everyone, they just thank me and tell me that. Truly they do. And if they don’t listen to the fake sports news, they’ll win every game.”

Barris: “What’s important is that they win, but they win for everyone, because everyone deserves to win because that’s what winning is.” [laughs loudly]

Okay… well, thank you both. This has been Spiralhorn Sound-off. I'm Armen Dacity. Good-night.
Barris: “No… I…” [continues laughing]

Don't you mean cackling?

Uncle Sam Needs YOU!

It looked like it was from that Bonnie and Clyde era

was always curious what the story was behind it
It took a lot of research through news clippings, census reports and online prison records with pictures to get that pic. He died a few months after getting released in Leavenworth, KS. His body was shipped to Plattsmouth, NE which is where a lot of family are from. He was buried at night with no obit in the papers (very odd). I am sure his sister (my great great grandma) had him buried that way. Having your brother die, just out of the Federal pen would have been embarrassing for the family back then (1914).

Coaching Staff: Preseason and Looking Ahead

By the way I wasn't sure where to put Caley. From whom I expected great things this presason. And that's not to say the TEs underwhelmed, as I have a suspicion they were careful with Allen in how they used him. But he probably should have been in the expecting to see more section.

If the TE group doesn't step up though it won't really be too much a surprise. Because the kid we got from Seattle is basically a Higs type, in that he's a blocker who can sometimes surprise a defense in the pattern. And Allen has potential to be a pass game weapon but judging from preseason still needs some seasoning. What can you say I suppose other than TE is hard.

So I left Caley out of things for now. But I was a bit disappointed because I expected Allen to go off as the guy they played in preseason. Hopefully we will see him continue to improve this season, and for the record I think Caley was a very strong hire as TE coach.

The 2024 Rams still have a ton of question marks

this team is better.

and the way it's constructed i don't think we'll be seeing any fade balls into the endzone. blake corum is going to eat them up inside the 5 yard line.

remember gurley in 2019? a td scoring machine inside the 5. that's what i'm expecting from corum.

they won't be going into the redzone 3 times again and coming up empty.

.
I believe that will be the case when the line is intact.. I'm only worried that it will be a challenge without them.

Your vision is exactly what I expect, overall, this season. The offensive continuity with Stafford, Kupp, Robinson, Nacua, Davis and Williams is going to help propel this team. I just can't wait to watch them destroy teams out of 11 personnel again. Even on here, I think people underrate just how much of a connection Stafford has now with Robinson. He has 3 reliable WRs.. wild!! Plus Parkinson and Davis.. plus Williams and Corum? My goodness!!!

The defense is a total mystery right now.. can't wait to see it in action. I feel like they have at least three legitimate playmakers in the defensive secondary now... whereas they had none last year. I expect them to generate more turnovers.

Really weird to me when I looked it up... the Chiefs were one of the worst teams in the NFL in turnover margin last season. Wild.

GAME DAY Rams at Texans / Preseason #3 / 1pm EST

I ended up watching this game being broadcast by Texans announcers.

I had to laugh when they said the Rams were probably watching the Texans receivers closely, in case any get cut because they look much better than what the Rams ran onto the field (paraphrasing).

Snead must have been licking his chops at those great backup receivers :laugh4:

I wish I could watch every preseason game with the Rams announcers broadcasting.
I had a good laugh at that too.

Hunting

bacon applesauce.. going to try that soon
Just chop up some bacon, fry it up crispy, drain the grease, add some applesauce, chopped up apples, a little soy sauce, and a little agave or honey to taste. Cook until apple pieces are still crisp but starting to soften. It's also great on a nice steak (preferably a filet) or pork loin chop. Also good if you slice up some apple and have a bite of fresh apple with each bite of meat.

Preseason Indicators that May (or may not) Mean Something

I believe the only force of randomness in this universe is thought. Everything else can be solved if you know enough.

Rolling a die for example just appears to be random. But if you knew the hardness of the die, direction of spin, velocity, starting position, arc, medium it is travelling in, hardness of the surface you are rolling on, gravity, etc., etc., then I believe you could predict the roll with 100% accuracy. It is "random" because we lack the real time processing power to solve it. Down the road AI will be able to solve this type of stuff in real time and tell you your roll after you let go of the die.

Computers use sampled noise to do RNG, or they used to. Which appears random for sure. But if you knew everything about the cosmic background, it might not be random. I doubt it is. This is just our ignorance making it seem random.

Only thought seems to break free of this. At least in my thinking. Maybe I'm wrong too who knows but it makes me wonder if thought is special or some sort of desired result. Probably not of course but I still wonder about that.
That's a whole lot of thought process. I just go with one of my good friend's sayings (also thought to be attributed to the Roman Philosopher, Seneca). If anyone calls him lucky he just responds with "Luck is merely where preparation meets opportunity"

My OTA’s stars or surprises

Fair. I just love McClendon’s potential skill set at right tackle. Add in Leveston being a swing guard, and Limmer as backup center/guard, and - of course - our starting five mountains, and I don’t think we’re keeping more than those nine.

Now D-line and the secondary? That’s going to be interesting and one of my top watches this preseason. Our undrafted free agents we picked up on both fronts (lots of UDFA corners and three really interesting UDFAs on the line) are intriguing as it is, but we really do have a lot of solid players at D-line and secondary ready.

If you can believe it, Bobby Brown III will not turn twenty-four until August. BB3, Desjuan Johnson showed out last year, Tyler Davis being intriguing, Fiske and Turner, obviously, and I really think David Olajiga could be someone special in the league if it all comes together for him.

As for the secondary, we’re as loaded at safety as I can remember. Obviously Curl and Kinchens, but let’s not forget about Lake, Yeast, Taylor II, and JJ3. Tanner Ingle was a stud in preseason last year, and Kenny Logan Jr. and Tank McCullough are interesting adds.

The cornerback situation is both scary and intriguing. If White reaches his former level, that could be the steal of the offseason. If D-Will is what we had from him in the past, he could be a steal. Then you have Durant and THT, both of whom I love. (And I suppose Kendrick…) We obviously see something in Shaun Jolly and Cameron McCutcheon, having kept both of them from prior seasons. And the UDFAs (Josh Wallace, Cam Lampkin, and Charles Woods) can’t be discounted either.

Either way, camp is gonna be rocking.

Some good over site.Still cuts are going to be tough. We didn’t get a good look at special teams. The Rams went very vanilla.

Now the Ernest Jones saga ?

GAME DAY Rams vs Chargers Aug. 17

No. He was a Beaver.
I guess you’re not a big fan of Bobby Moore either. Sort shows knowledge of football history.

I know what I know & like when I’m corrected. In this case there are certain things your not going to change mascot. I remember Miller Time as well. Went to a few civalwar games back in my time.

I honestly don’t recall Foutes in college though, just the history of time & friends who did.

Going to a history type weekend this year of football & baseball.Sort of a Kool bucket list thing.
