Likely Byron Young and Hoecht to start the season.

I expect Nick Hampton to make some noise at some point though, his style of play reminded me a bit of Von Miller.
Thats who I picked. I like Hoecht's motor. He is a little big for the edge though. So his strength is not really beating tackles with speed. He's more a relentless get after the quarterback guy. He also needs to learn not to get caught out of position on run plays.

I'd really prefer Hoecht as a rotational pass rushing DE, he's already far better than anything we've seen from guys like Jonah Williams, Ernest Brown IV, & T.J. Carter, I haven't formulated an opinion on where Zach Van Valkenburg expects to fit. Hoecht as our primary pass rushing DE with the best run stopper from the rest of the group in rotation with him. I can see Desjuan Johnson as becoming a threat to those lesser DE's, possibly as early as late this season.
My starting Edge OLB is quite naturally Byron Young, with everyone from Ochaun Mathis, Nick Hampton, Daniel Hardy & Keir Thomas looking at rotational jobs for Young and more often at the other end. Early in the season I suspect we'll be substituting Edge players in and out much like last year with Terrell Lewis, Takkarist McKinley, Keir Thomas & Daniel Hardy.
I believe with our excess in CAP availability for 2024, the Rams will strive to acquire the best available veteran Edge Rusher during next years free agency period.

He reminds of Greene, relentless and noticing him later, so yeah I might be a tad optimistic, but it's May the best time to be overly positive.

Great points, everyone! I love the discussion. I realize thst I may have put a couple who aren’t edge rushers (EB4, Desjuan Johnson, possibly Hoecht), but I wanted to cover every part for this poll.

In my opinion, Desjuan’s getting overlooked, which is why I voted for him. I also voted for VanValkenburg, because I figured they kept him on for a reason, but Desjuan could very well surprise; he has the quick twitch needed for edge rushing, the size to bullrush, and he produced at a high level.

You know that McVay wants to one-up Shanny, so why not counter his quarterback with one hell of a pass rusher?

No thanks: they’re far too old to fit in with this retool.
