It was between Brewer and Kiser, for me. I thought Brewer was in all along and is Reeder really better than Kiser?

I was hoping Meredith would beat out Evans, although not really surprised by any of the cuts. I still hope Brewer gets to the Practice Squad as OT depth could get dicey in 2022, ... or sooner. Lawler had an excellent game 1, then kinda disappeared for games 2 & 3.

Lawler for now. But still a long way to go. Is the waiver wire 24 hours?

Earnest Brown IV was my surprise. I figured that Jonah Williams was going to make it and that there'd be seven D-linemen but I didn't see Hoecht coming out and making the roster over EB4.

If I had to choose one player it would be Lawler. But, that'll probably be moot tomorrow when they IR Okoronkwo.

And it sounds like Anchrum going on short term IR when Shelton clears the covid protocol.

Methinks the next player to go is JuJu Hughes, if they can obtain a player via waiver claim.

Hopefully Joe DiCamillis and Kevin Carberry are standing on the table pushing McVay / Snead to put in a waiver claim for FB Ben Mason.

I was disappointed the Kiser was cut too. Although I understand it. Kiser has Reeder beat on physical measurables but Reeder is locked in. He knows where to be, even if it takes him a while to get there. Plus the whole availability thing must play a factor.

Ben Skow making the 53 was a surprise for me. WR, ST's or wherever he plays...we saw next to nothing. Gotta trust the coaches on this one.

Isn't he still a candidate to be IR'd ?

I think but ... really ... REALLY ... not sure, that if you placed a player on Injured Reserve prior to today's 53-man cut-down deadline, that player is out for the season. However, players that go on IR after the deadline that passed a couple hours ago, can be brought-back off-IR (believe he has to sit-out three games).

So Okoronkwo and Anchrum (currently injured but not season-ending) are candidates; and the Rams will need the roster spots because currently Hekker and Shelton do not count against the 53. Skowronek could be another candidate.

Jourdan mentioned Skow was at practice today, but I don't believe she said one way or another whether he actually was a participant, so I remain uncertain over his injury status. I believe it was the middle of August when it was stated he'd likely be out from 4 - 6 weeks. jmo.

Skow was the shocker to me, provided he actually made the team. Assumed he'd be on practice squad. Earnest Brown is a surprise because they actually used a draft pick on him this year. And yeah, Kiser kind of surprised me. I was really high on him coming out of college. But, he'd been hurt and not real dominating when playing.

Only 3 for me...

P Bojo (traded), S JuJu Hughes waived, WR Triston Jackson waived.

What surprised me is the players they kept in the mix.

Ben Skow (injured) showed nothing special on tape.
Bobby Evans (showed no improvement) from last season.
Terrell Lewis & Obo Okoronkow (both are always banged up) and not sure if they can last through a 17 game season.

I expected them to keep Evans. Did the same thing with Demby. Look past the deficiencies and think they can coach him up. It rarely works. It’s probably Ego.

I graded Kiser much much higher than Jones and Howard In preseason. PFF did the same, not that they are always reliable. Honestly I expected this cut but think it’s a mistake.

Meredith outplayed all lineman in preseason, not only by my game review but several sources published this as well. But as I said he had 2 snaps where he didn’t know the assignment and so as I said he will most likely be stashed on the PS to red shirt and learn the system. Undrafted guys are more easily stashed. I thought he had a chance to sneak on the 53 but knew it was a long shot for this staff and their stubbornness with Evans and such.

I called the Hoecht selection after reviewing the tape and him and Jonah deserved the spots they earned.

In the camp reports, Skow was having a lot of very good days, both according our our own camp reporters as well as from others like Jourdan.

No but Reeder is healthier than Kiser. I’m ready to eat some crispy crow if Reeder improves significantly from last year.

Bojorquez, mostly because of Hekker tweet. He made it seem like he was on his way out.

Ernest Brown to some extent. Only because of where he was drafted. He didn't shine in preseason though. He was outplayed by Williams and Hoecht and it wasn't close.
