I proposed this on another thread…as a potential option:

Trade down to get Omar Cooper and another R2 draft pick. My guess is Cooper goes end of R1.

Proposed trade/draft scenario:
Trade R1.13 to HOU for R1.28 & R2.38.
Omar Cooper WR IND @R1.28.
Chris Johnson CB SDST @R2.38.
Just out of curiosity any guesses on the player the Texans might be targeting?

I like his size and long speed. He just doesn't seem to have any real burst or much YAC ability. I realize that's probably how we get him in Rd 3 and I'm probably being too picky for that placement in the draft, but I'd like to see more than a possession type receiver.
Burst looks pretty decent for a 6'2", 207 lbs. WR to me.

And that 4.36/40 with a 1.53/10 yard split was pretty impressive. Even bettered my guy Omar Cooper Jr.

What was really surprising though was that his 10 yard split beat the fastest guy at the combine Brennan Thompson who ran a 4.26/40.

We can... at the risk of losing some of his agility and even more speed. And a lack of speed is the thing holding him back from being able to separate from NFL CBs. I don't see Konata developing into a starting caliber WR but I've been wrong before.
Not sure what we have in Mumfield so gotta figure that out this year. We know what we have in XSmith and Whitt. They are STeamers who can occasionally relieve starters. DAdams is a great red zone target and occasional chain mover. We are missing a true WR2 of the future. That should be a priority in FA this year.

I am becoming more and more enamoured with the thought of a slight trade down from 13 and grabbing Omar Cooper Jr. Or moving up in the second and trying for Germie Bernard. The two of them are the 'Rams-iest' receivers in this draft.

Door # 1 please….Cooper.
He won’t make it past Buffalo at R1.26 but could go earlier.

The late 20s is a real gauntlet for him to get through, no doubt. SF also he wouldn't get by.

This is why I think the wideouts are gonna be a bit crazy on draft night. Teams are going to have their favorites and it's gonna upset the apple cart in the expected hierarchy. And the wideouts who have physicality to them and good hands are going to elevate a bit because so many teams are playing bend but don't break approaches on defense that winning and losing hinge more than ever on who converts in the redzone.

I would think they would want one of the top OL, either an OT or the OG from Penn St. That could be our trade down partner.

If Simpson climbs, maybe someone wants him. Would be perfect to trade down to the Jets at 16, then move down again a few spots. Add a couple late 3rds would be great. Maybe use them to then move up into rd 2

Cooper seems to be rocketing up the draft board. May not even make it to R1.20.

Tell you what…on a human level, that just makes me appreciate him more - and he’s already a hell of a receiver. Easy speed and acceleration, good hands? Wouldn’t mind him one bit if we traded down from 13.
I've (only) read that his drop ratio could be better and his run blocking isn't the best, so I'm skeptical about him.
Other than that .........
Boston may still be there further down, and he has the solid hand strength, (decent) 4.52 speed and is a bigger target at 6'-4" , and 212.

I’m with you on that.

But even to justify it for football purposes, he fills multiple needs.

To get an awesome talent and a great human is a win

Any opinions on WR Skyler Bell? I saw a mock where the PFF guys mocked him to the Rams at 61. He does look like a RAC threat. Supposedly, a good route runner. He does look like a fit. A little like a poor man's Ike Bruce, just in terms of build and his skillset. Obviously not saying he is another Bruce, just that style of WR.

Pass. Heard on a podcast that he doesn't contribute on special teams.
