I would have no problem with taking him with the 13th pick and I don't even see what the big fuss over it is. He's not going to last until the 2nd round in my opinion contrary to what Breer thinks.
2 reasons (clues) for that.
1. He declared for the draft based on Intel he received that he would be a 1st round pick.
2. He's one of the 15? I think it is invitees to the draft. 15 or 16. Usually those invitees get drafted in round one.
What makes me laugh about your stance is you act like he was the only issue with the team later in the year. The OL couldn't block a tackle dummy the WR's just disappeared and they never had a running game. But hey if it allows us to shit on the QB we can ignore all the things that went wrong with the rest of the team right?
The lack of starts would make him a MAJOR outlier if he succeeds. Add to it the lack of size and potential ability to last a 20 game NFL season. I’d feel better about these things if he had better size (or if picked outside 1st round) - but those things are not happening.

Good point on the risk.
It's reconciled in two ways, IMO.
First, the lack of starts issue is real, but mitigated by the fact that we wouldn't be throwing him into the fire right away. It's rare nowadays for drafted QBs to get a chance to sit on a bench and develop. Green Bay has done it successfully twice now in the last two decades. If we draft him, we are following that plan.
Secondly, it's about 10 times harder to find a franchise QB than it is to find a great WR. Even if Tyson risk equals Simpson risk, the positional factor strongly tilts the equation to justifying risk for a QB.
Who's shitting on the QB. I'm saying he's not a guy I'd take first round. I said I'd get behind it if we take him. I said he's most likely a backup but has a chance to start. I question his one fucking year of starting in college, with the latter portion of those games where he came up short being some glorious example of QBing.
The dude doesn't help us year one. He's probably a backup in this offense. Sure maybe he could hit, but we could play that game later in this draft or next year in the draft and take players who can contribute in those 1-3 round picks.
Did you see his injury history that was posted a week or two ago. It was horrible. Even Warner was worried about it when discussing Simpson.
