Wentz suffered from heroballitis just like Levis. Though I think Levis actually has a worse case of it.
I remember one of the Rams writers mention that Snead told him that the concern they had with Wentz was he was the kid in HS that would run into the outfield fence full speed to try to catch a ball that was 5 ft over the fence or would crash into the gym wall trying to block a layup. He said that in so many words, maybe not exact, but that was the gist.Wentz suffered from heroballitis just like Levis. Though I think Levis actually has a worse case of it.![]()
To me it's very simple.Yeah, I just saw this today. He's right, that it's like a lottery ticket with a huge jackpot. Chances are slim, but if he can be developed, and if his issues are just mechanics and lack of experience, then you might have a superstar in a few years.
Wow. I don't recall that, but it shows the extent of the homework the teams do on these dudes. They definitely nailed Wentz man.I remember one of the Rams writers mention that Snead told him that the concern they had with Wentz was he was the kid in HS that would run into the outfield fence full speed to try to catch a ball that was 5 ft over the fence or would crash into the gym wall trying to block a layup. So in other words, he was reckless. And this was said when it looked like Wentz was better than Goff after a few yrs in the league. That turned out to be so true, both in taking chances and not staying healthy, and more importantly playing hero ball.

I do recall that and just felt that Wentz thought he was invincible and at that age, in that type of shape, who wouldn't? However, it proved to be accurate and Wentz's injury prone history, did not change at the next level.Wow. I don't recall that, but it shows the extent of the homework the teams do on these dudes. It might have been Vinny Bonsignore, or Sam Farmer. One of those. They said at the time it was off record, right after the 2016 draft, but I guess he felt he could share it years later....probably around 2018 or 19'.Wow. That dude kind of scares me. He's super cocky (from what I've seen) and makes absolutely disastrous decisions.I wonder what it would take to get McCarthy from Minnesota? Then signing two QBs is kind of telling, but last season was basically a rookie year, and he looked like a rookie out there. If we could snag him for cheap and let him sit behind Stafford, it could be beneficial for long term success… and he knows the system…
Good grief no….I wonder what it would take to get McCarthy from Minnesota? Then signing two QBs is kind of telling, but last season was basically a rookie year, and he looked like a rookie out there. Think I'd rather gamble on trading for Levis personally.
No. McCarthy was a mistake to begin with. There is virtually nothing about his game that says NFL QB. He plays like a rookie… an UDFA rookie.I wonder what it would take to get McCarthy from Minnesota? Perfect Size and has mobility too.Kind of an old piece, but high praise and Draft hype here for QB Cole Payton. SOME feel he's QB2, most feel he's a 2nd Round pick with a slight chance for bottom 1st.
