Which QB should the Rams draft in the 1st Round next year?

Josh Rosen was a drop back passer so when Arizona made the coaching change to the spread aficionado kingsbury, (who openly expressed desire for Murray) it was only a matter of time.
Only way I would see (and I consider it near impossible) it happen would be Cingnetti himself being the coach of whoever has the pick

And he just signed a huge extension didn't he? I'm not sure he's ever expressed interest in the NFL though.

My read on Tennessee from my armchair... I'd say they don't have the front office to make that kind of call where they shitcan the QB after one year and draft another one. Could be wrong but they strike me as more loaded with consensus seekers who won't want to make waves, just keep that head down so it doesn't get taken off type of mentality.

But if I was Tennessee's GM and we end up with the #1 pick I'd move Ward and draft Mendoza. But then I want an offense with a QB who can grow into that field general who is the smartest MFer on the field, who also has the talent to run whatever offense you install. Mendoza's that QB prospect much moreso to my eye at least than Ward.

Ward is himself a very strong QB prospect. Just not as good a prospect as Mendoza.

I don't rate Mendoza nearly as high as you and some others. He's a fine QB but I don't think he'll be any better than Ward or Dart.

I think he's got more potential than a game manager or at least I hope he does.

I'm seeing mock drafts have him being selected by the Rams with their late 1st pick. I'd be good with that.

With all the QBs returning for next year, they will most likely at best take a flier late for a guy that just could be a future back up, but maybe has some upside to start.

I know he gets bashed, but I would grab Allar if he is there late rd 6 or 7. The same with Klubnik. Maybe you can build these guys back up to at least be capable backups.

What we have all said is that look for them to amass extra picks for next year. Even extra 2nd rounders can help land a QB in a trade up, or at least provide picks to fall back on if you trade future 1's.

Yeah and that's fine. We all have our takes on these guys.

What I think sets Mendoza apart when you compare him to most top picks is he's got a high floor in addition to the high ceiling. Again I don't think he's one of those rare QBs, the last of which was Lawrence who was insanely high in his upside.

Mendoza will play right away and as long as he's got a run game will be fine while he learns. I think if the team with the top pick trades it, they'll get quite a haul too.

Also and btw... I'm talking quality as a top prospect. So comparing him to Ward when he came out, same with Dart. Now since that time Ward struggled this year, which isn't fully his fault but he still has to own it some. Also with Dart he looked the part but is a bit reckless with the running into the teeth of defenses that will tee off on QBs, and got the concussion shit as a result. Dart was by far my favorite QB in last year's class, but that doesn't mean I felt he should go 1 overall. This is why I'd love to see the Rams trade for him if NY ends up with that top pick.

With McVay's love for Jimmy G and the improvement of Bennett, I don't see them taking a flier on anyone. It's QBotF this year or nothing.

I strongly agree, though, that they will look to amass 2027 draft capital. I wouldn't be surprised at all for a sizeable trade back with that top 10 bonus pick. Snead's playing with house money. I see him doing anything he can to parlay that into draft flexibility next year for a QB play.

Jimmy might get tired of waiting and might get an opportunity to play somewhere since there will be little impact from the draft this year at that position.

I rate Mendoza right in line with Ward and Dart so I don't get the desire to move off Ward for a lateral move. I actually like Wards arm more and his ability to move the ball downfield. Mendoza is fine in there too but not sure he's better.

I've followed some Titans boards and the difference of opinions on Ward from them to non Titans fans is vast. There are always outliers but for the most part they like him and appreciate the growth he has shown. The offense is not the best to showcase his skills they are anxious to see him next year.

Again if you end up with the 1st pick you trade down to say 3 or 4 wherever the Raiders are and you build (though right now they're at 3 I think).

Watch them hire Mike McCarthy as HC

OLB Jaelen Phillips

#3 you take Edge Ruben Bain
#35 Branch/Bell/Lance/Bernard take your 2nd round WR you like
#67 G Chase Bisontis
#100 or whatever you take C Logan Jones

You've given him 2 WR to go with Ayomanor and Dike
You've given them 2 pass rushers and a CB they desperately need they might have the worst pass rush in the NFL
You've given him a TE1 who is as much or more of a weapon than any WR they have
You've built up the weak part of the OL the IOL with 2 studs

And if that doesn't help him with a real OC/HC and an improved roster you're not tied to him at all next year with McCarthy and he picks his next QB.

Yeah and he’s going to be 65 when the season starts, which would make him the 3rd oldest HC in the league (unless Pete Carroll gets fired then he’d be #2)
Also has never coached in the NFL
Never can say never, but it seems pretty unlikely

Why would he want that? Backup there versus backup here? He's a backup for a SB contending team with a starter that's approaching 40.

Not to mention the city, weather, etc.
