So I brought up a week ago that the Titans could move off Ward for Mendoza and many said that was insane, but now moving Dart is a real possibility?

Sure Dart wasn't #1 overall last year, but he has outplayed Ward this year and has easily looked better. Just shows you that an organization does not want to miss out on a possible clear upgrade at QB. In this case not sure how much of an upgrade Mendoza is over Dart.

If they move him, I could see the Rams being interested IF Stafford retires or if he makes it clear he is only by playing one more year. Having said that, I doubt the Giants want to give McVay a potential top flight young QB since we are in the same conference. They will want to move him to the AFC if in fact they move him.
I think it's just as terrible of an idea as moving off Ward. I don't get teams and fans suggesting it your roster is still not good that's why you're picking so high. You have a QB build around him. To me this is trying to reinvent the wheel when you already have one that works.

And I would love to have Dart behind Stafford. He's got that same cool demeanor that 9 carries and can sit and learn and has the wheels to do good work for us on the scout team. Stafford > Bennett > Dart is basically my hope.

That said I wonder what it would cost to get Dart from NY.
Would pick 10 do it? Would we want to offer that much? Maybe pick 32 (hoping) and a 2nd day pick next year? I just don't think they would want to give him to McVay because he not only would make him look like a star, but we would be competing with the Giants for playoff spots over the next ten years with him.

He was a very weak #1 overall though. It was by default because of the lack of top QB's in the draft. Had he come out a year earlier he might have been picked between 10-15.

Not rehashing this again sorry.

Anyone else watch Bama/Oklahoma? Gotta say I was impressed with the way Simpson fought through that one. He's a really tough eval man. Kid reads well. Sees the field well. Accurate, though his deeper balls have a bit more arc than I prefer. Crazy game though.

Looks like they have Indiana up next so should be fun. :part:

We can rehash it in 3 years after seeing how both QB's careers playout
I honestly do not care enough about the players or the teams to even consider it. Again you insist that each team has doubts about the QB they just drafted. If they had those doubts chances are pretty good they don't draft the QB and stick with what they had on their roster. But if you want to address this again even though I won't remember or care by all means entertain yourself with it.

The one QB you have cited that a team moved off from on a high pick (Rosen to Murray) after one year was replaced by a guy who has played in 1 playoff game and sucked in it along with most of the time he's been a starter. Hardly a glowing endorsement from moving off the #1 pick let alone Dart later in the 1st.

Simpson very much redeemed himself or started the process last night from what I saw. He's got to continue it though but with good playoffs he and Moore could be in this draft and will be drafted high.

Like Deshaun Watson had, and he ended up in Cleveland
A trade of a player of that magnitude will require significant capital, similar to what the Rams traded for Stafford.
The current Rams do not have anything close to that trade capital

The money offered was hard to refuse.

Also, Burrows choices won’t be as limited because he doesn’t go around asking for tuggies

Have no idea why Kyler Murray matters. Teams will evaluate what they have and what they think these draft picks can become. It's that simple. Hey, the Giants might love Dart and take a boat load of picks. Probably the smart thing to do. However, we don't know what they are thinking and what their new front office will think.

It's a fact that the QB position is everything, so if you believe the top QB in this draft is a much better prospect than what you currently have, why wouldn't you take him?

So again, yes, let's move on and we will see how these guys career's playout and whether they should have swapped out their QB or not.

I like so much of his game. He looks to be more a game manager than a stud with the arm and all the physical side stuff, but if you're good enough as a game manager you can go a long way in this league. He can look DBs off as well.

I'd love to see where the Rams have him on that early board. They may be a lot less concerned about the height than I am.

I gotta say, I love reading thru a thread like this one. So many of our core members having a discussion and showing the ability to throw out opinions, and to agree and disagree without being dicks to each other.

Tenn moving off of Ward (for Mendoza) is quite a take. Sure anything is possible. But that’s out there. Mendoza isn’t even that much of a sure thing. Next years QB seemingly is gonna be lots of quality & quantity. I can’t imagine a GM doing that. Now giving him another year and then you are draft top 1-2 with Manning, etc. there - maybe then.

Dart is a different story. Not the 1OA pick and he has concussion concerns. But I still would think NYG would run that one out since Dart has some spark and personality to sell. But that I could envision a scenario where happens (not Ward).

The one example of moving off a 1st round QB that was provided for me at an earlier request was moving off Rosen. Did that move work out regardless of what Rosen went on to do? That was my point moving off Rosen was the example and while Murray was better than Rosen it wasn't exactly a success because the team hasn't done anything. The team still is bad because they haven't built a team around a young QB which is what you have to do to get ahead in this game. Build a team

@PhillyRam and I have discussed this and we trade jabs and wise cracks but we know each other are not angry or think less of each other. Too many people see a contrary opinion and get offended or go on offensive when there's no need for it. I've had these kind of talks with other posters and it's always funny people get upset for them on their behalf for no reason :D
