He's been iffy as hell of late. But that is better than him killing it in terms of us having an ability to position for him without needing to jump.Do not like what I've seen from Mateer today.
I agree, provided Nacua and Adams are healthy.
With them at the top of the depth chart, the current depth (Whittington, Atwell and Mumpfield) is good.
However, if either Nacua or Adams are out for multiple games, the WR position takes a huge hit; and that negatively impacts the entire Offense ... and the Team.
Nacua plays Wide Receiver like a fullback; and Adams (33 in December) is probably not a long-term option.
I think WR will be a position of need in 2026.
My issue here is that Williams was given a nice contract, and is a very good (not elite) RB, Blake Corum was a 3rd round pick who looks good backing-up Williams and Jarquez Hunter was a 4th rounder. Hunter has barely touched the field but Williams and Corum barely played in their rookie seasons.
In Williams, Corum and Hunter, the Rams have invested a fair amount of value capital (draft picks and cap $)
If they add an elite RB, none of these three players would have a role. Adding a RB like Love would just not be a good use of assets, in my opinion.
I wanted Maiaiva in the 3rd but he has played his way into the first according to some draft sites.
I don't know yet what my stance is on a QB in the first
If they don't like any of these QBs, and/or think that Stafford is good for a couple more years, then you draft one of those stud WRs or a LT (who you can start out at RT then move eventually to LT) or both. Then draft a Center in round 3 on top of that to ensure we have talent required across all five spots. Raising the bar on OL quality would insulate Stafford and extend his shelf life.I have been an admittedly BIG proponent of the thinking: "we MUST get our next Drafted Franchise Quarterback in the 2026 Draft, now that we're armed with TWO 1st Round picks.
I'm now, more leaning of the belief, we should give Stafford a new 3-year deal, and try, if we can, to trade some 2026 Draft Capital into 2027 Draft Currency.

Not to mention CB. A stud corner up high would be great as well.
Mateer, Simpson & Sellers all had some ugly moments today. Mendoza had a decent game but it was such a blowout it’s hard to judge.Do not like what I've seen from Mateer today.
Sellers will have his ugly moments. He has to carry that team with the limited talent on that offense. Bad OL. Inconsistent running game. And iffy at WR aside from Harbor, whom he's not able to use to potential because the OL can't hold up. Plus, Mike Shula is a mediocre OC. Add in that Sellers is still developing as a passer, and yeah, that'll happen. But I'll take my chances with that kid. The flashes are there, and he's an A+ athlete. Can do things on the football field few other guys can do.Mateer, Simpson & Sellers all had some ugly moments today. Mendoza had a decent game but it was such a blowout it’s hard to judge.
Ironically the qb who really showed out today was Arch Manning
Led a huge comeback today
Mendoza will get himself killed running the way he does, he had a mediocre at best 1st qtr but rebounded nicely, he has the measurables and arm talent.Mateer, Simpson & Sellers all had some ugly moments today. Mendoza had a decent game but it was such a blowout it’s hard to judge.

The Rams have been unwilling to commit to Stafford for more than a year at a time. If they have the opportunity to acquire Burrow, they'll tell Stafford he's done in LA without hesitation. "Love you Staff, we're moving on!"Where Burrow doesn't make sense is Stafford. Barring a situation where he drops retirement after the playoffs, what the Rams need is a futures QB option. Not a guy whose presence will piss 9 off. Stafford is reasonable. He will understand the Rams drafting a futures QB. But he's not going to endure Burrow being behind him, that is a recipe for drama so it would mean they move Stafford and that's a whole lot of unnecessary flak for an offseason.
Only way the Rams would do that is if, during the playoff run, they decide that Stafford is done. And that seems unlikely, barring injury, since he is playing as well as ever.
So they’d release him? Take a 40+ mill dead cap hit and add another 40+ mill for Burrow? The Rams have been unwilling to commit to Stafford for more than a year at a time. Everyone would understand.

That depends on how this season goes and how Stafford plays. If his play nosedives and we get bounced game one in the playoffs then yes I agree that it wouldn't be hard to sell. But Burrow hasn't exactly been money in the playoffs. And Burrow has been surrounded by elite talent, whereas Stafford has made do with a bit less and got the job done for us.Everyone would understand.
Ugh. I stand corrected. I forgot he signed a contract for 2 years with guaranteed money. So they’d release him? Take a 40+ mill dead cap hit and add another 40+ mill for Burrow?
I don’t think everyone or anyone would understand that.
Burrow isn’t going anywhere
Ive been driving the Burrow to LA bus for the last 6 months. I’ve been putting it into the universe. I know there is a .00001% chance it happens, but I’ve been trying to will it to take place. The Rams have been unwilling to commit to Stafford for more than a year at a time. If they have the opportunity to acquire Burrow, they'll tell Stafford he's done in LA without hesitation. "Love you Staff, we're moving on!"

I also think Stafford’s not going to keep playing if he’s not playing at a high level. So I think this will kind of work itself out on its own. As long as Stafford is playing like a top 10 QB, he’s going to keep playing. If he starts looking like Andy Dalton, he’ll hang it up.That depends on how this season goes and how Stafford plays. If his play nosedives and we get bounced game one in the playoffs then yes I agree that it wouldn't be hard to sell. But Burrow hasn't exactly been money in the playoffs. I do like the idea of trading for Burrow. But this isn't like Goff, where McVay had a clear dislike for him the entire duration of the second half of his last season with us, as well as the playoffs, and where his play had nosedived. This is replacing a clutch performer who has proven he can elevate his game in big moments. So it carries more risk, and more pressure, and would be a harder sell not only to the fans but also the locker room. Which means this year's playoff run will have a lot to say about things. I think Stafford has to crash and burn for that, or tell McVay he wants to retire.
And with us having two first round picks it makes so much more sense to take a QB that McVay likes, assuming the one he likes is available at our pick where the Rams want to make that move. Then we can set him up with full preparation before he ends up taking the job from 9. Redshirt him and let McVay nuke him with the playbook for a year or two.
Would be sweet if a team could turn Georgia Tech's Haynes Kings into an NFL QB.I want a QB who can use his legs as a weapon.
