Could have easily moved up last year for Dart.
Yeah that is true. But I think the Giants surprised them. There were rumors the Rams had a deal in principle at least outlined with NY, so maybe they would have moved down if Dart was there. But I suspect they were going to take him.

Frankly, I would be thrilled to take a QB with the talent of Goff, but I haven't seen that (yet) from anyone in the 2026 class.

Goff was the number one overall pick for good reason-- his arm talent was and still is pretty damn amazing. As we all know, when Goff gets rattled he can make mistakes. But when he gets protection and is in a groove, he fires consistent lasers.

I'll acknowledge I only saw Mendoza's second half against Oregon. But what I saw was a good game manager with toughness and leadership and running skill, and an arm that sometimes was accurate and sometimes was not.

Bottom line, for me: Both Goff and Stafford were #1 overall picks for good reason. They are both immensely talented. It's gonna be a tall order for the Rams to find their next QB with talent commensurate to those two.
Great post.
Now, in full disclosure, I was at the end of my rope with goff when the Rams were too. Mainly, it was the fumble to sack ratio. Guy kept dropping the damn ball! His indecision to face life and run, resulting in a noncommittal effort that came up short, also started to piss me off.
Having said that…

Goff was the #1 pick because he had the arm and ability to make every big league throw imaginable. His arm is that good. He also played for a notoriously bad OL. This made him accustomed to pressure. Have you ever noticed how long he stands in the pocket? It’s not because he doesn’t know they’re there, he’s just waiting for someone to get open. He’s got more guts and toughness than people give him credit for.

Bottom line? He got the Rams to a SB. How many current QBs have been to a SB? Three aging old guys are rogers, flacco, and wilson. After that, what have you got? It’s not lamar or allen.

Stafford is such a badass that it’s easier to bag on goff. Person, people.

Personally, I have not watched college football in years. However, I love the Draft and think it's critical to the success of a franchise. So, come February, I focus on the April Draft, reading and watching everything I can to come to a consensus of opinions. Since I didn't watch any of the prospects, I rarely have personal opinions.

This Fall was different for me, I was watching a ton of the College Football coverage because I wanted to hear from the "EXPERTS" on the top QB-prospects. And, in my opinion ... These Fuckers don't know shit!

All the way back in early-September ... That's SIX WEEKS AGO! ... the "Experts" said the top college QBs were Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik, Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar and LaNorris Sellers, with Sam Leavitt, John Mateer and Carson Beck getting some play.

Almost none of those guys are currently at the top of the "Experts" list ... Sellers still gets attention because of his ridiculous athleticism.

Six WHOLE WEEKS later, and the primary names now are ... Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore, Jayden Maiava and Ty Simpson. None of these guys were in the discussion Way-Back Then ... SIX WEEKS AGO!!!
