Not sure you are understanding what you're saying here. When Owners give out big singing bonuses, It's more money out of pocket up front, which means out of the owner's pocket. Burrow is not in any way being affected by a cheap owner.

I am talking about a few years from now if they have to decide to give him a new deal. That's when they may have to fork over a 40M signing bonus in year 1 of a new deal.
 
My guess: The next Rams starting qb is already on an NFL roster.

Trevor Lawrence, Drake Maye, Sam Darnold, Brock Purdy (just seeing if you're paying attention, LOL)...I doubt McVay wants to start completely from scratch with a rookie.

I'd absolutely love to get Drake Maye, but I doubt the Cheatriots go for it.
