His OC/QB coach has been the same since 2023 same with the OL coach and the scheme hasn't changed. Some of it could be supporting cast but he hasn't looked good at all. I mentioned even before the season I didn't think his arm was strong enough and that showed for sure this year. At times he just misses WR's and makes bad decisions. I'm honestly not sure why he regressed but he just was not good this year. I didn't like him as a Rams target but it was all arm strength issues to me and the rest was adequate. This year the rest dropped to the arm strength level I honestly don't get it. I think he's a late day 3 pick now as a lottery shot for somebody. Might just be a Bennett going forward if he can stick as a backup TBH.
Hrm well the only reason I even sweat arm strength is because I know McVay likes to stretch it vertically. Never been too much about that. But if that's an issue plus he's regressed then yeah chances are the Rams won't be looking his way. I mean the first game I queued up Sayin's tape I saw his floaty ass ball and thought ah hell that's enough of this dude.

I'm looking forward to knowing who the class will be. Then I'm gonna get back into the film on these guys. Started up but felt like I was spinning my wheels. Not to mention with Cousins winning games for them the bastid, takes some of the fun out of tracking their pick.

I watched his highlights and seems like 8 out every 10 "highlight plays" are him running. Not much showing his arm. Did see a few where you can see his arm strength, but not much showing him reading defenses, or intermediate accuracy, etc.... He definitely would be a long-term project. If Stafford plays through 27' then he would make sense as a late round flyer.
Yeah I was all over his nuts after watching that long TD run he had, as his suddenness really leaped off the tape. Then I watched some full games and the passing situations felt painful as hell. I would like him on our depth chart too, but I agree waiting for the Senior Bowl and having all the big games in the rear view will give us some clarity.

I think with the Raiders at #1 there isnt any opportunity for trade up for Mendoza either
There's still time for the Raiders to fuck that up. :laugh2:

But yeah we can forget about Mendoza. Only way we would have been in the mix for him is if Atlanta had fallen to that 3 or 4 spot, which was never likely. I suppose it is possible the Raiders could overthink it and end up taking the Oregon kid (who I expect will come out given the strength of this class vs next). But with Brady involved I suspect they tanked for the top pick and have Mendoza circled already.

I am wondering about Simpson though. He's not gonna be in that elite group up top, but where do the Rams see him having value. Might be another Dart situation where he is viewed as good enough to risk a late first just to get the 5th year option.

Agreed. I was hoping the Giants would get the #1 which would have put the pick in play for sure, alas for the 2nd year in a row they blow their chance at the top pick by winning a meaningless game.....
Simpson is an interesting case, he does have another year of eligibility but might be better served coming out in a draft with less QB options. I really dont see a chance that Moore comes out

Assuming a pick at about a #12 and a 32 :helmet: :clinkingbeer:, I like the idea of a CB like Mansoor Delane. with his size, top end speed and man coverage skills, and then, if available, Kenyon Sadiq with his size, speed, blocking skills and YAC abilities in the upcoming draft.
Imagining him and Ferg on the field together, causing major mismatches for the defense.
And then maybe CBS sports suggestion of KC Concepcion and his YAC abilities, his 4.44 - 40 time, and his return skills.
Can you imagine this offense with good field position to start out drives?

I do not like Mansoor Delane as much as other corners in this class. Yes, he's a solid coverage guy, but he's not the #1 cornerback that I think others could be. Chris Johnson (San Diego State, thank you, @Merlin , at least, I think Merlin is the guy who's been on him all year) is the guy I love, along with Jermod McCoy (Tennessee), and I'd love one of them as my Falcons' pick corners; Chris Johnson, in particular, is going to rise like a well-baked cake.

Colton Hood (Tennessee) and Keith Abney II (Arizona State) would have to have our second first used on, but I wouldn't mind if we got a helluva receiver with our first. D'Angelo Ponds (Indiana, and no, I don't care that the kid is 5'9" at best; he's a fucking animal like Tyrann Mathieu, only at corner, and someone will get a steal with him.), Malik Muhammad (Texas), and Julian Neal (Arkansas, my favorite second-round corner who could quickly rise with a good offseason) are my favorite second day corners. Jyaire Hill (Michigan), and Tacario Davis (Washington, listed at 6'4", but probably 6'2", still one of the bigger corners in this class) are others I like on the third day. Honestly, I think Ponds might actually be one of my favorite corners period, even if he goes in the third round, and I don't give a shit about his size; he's got that dawg in him that belies his size, and he's as physical as it gets for a smaller corner.

Sooo, yeah, a draft that doubles down on Johnson and Ponds would have me over the moon.

What happened to the Manning Express train that was going through here before the season ?
He's not coming out this year so it's pointless to talk about him in a thread about drafting a QB in 2026. Other than that most of us have seen him grow a lot in games this year so not sure what exactly you're asking.

He’s as entitled as Shedeur Sanders is, judging from his actions leading to his leaving Tennessee for UCLA, and his dad is worse, a real helicopter parent.

I used to like him the most other than Arch, but that’s a firm no for me.
Arch is saying at Texas another year. We need a good backup left tackle to replace the garbage we have.

Regardless we would never get a shot at him unless we have a diasterous year. Any team picking 1st next year takes him or they have a QB they really like and it would take a ton of draft capital (including a very high #1) to get him.

With McVay as head coach you will never select 1 overall. Our worst season under him we lost our QB and damn near our entire OL, played like dogshit, but still won 5 games.
