I was quick to act like there are personal reasons why a player might choose to stick with his team over transferring to a better situation because we must account for the personal in these situations. You can certainly make an argument that he's not sticking around for good reasons, and the strongest argument there is that he's sticking around because SC is paying him a lot of money to do so. The argument you're actually making isn't compelling, so yes, I will choose to disregard it.Precisely my point.
My comment was in part because you were so quick to act like the kid is sticking around due to only good reasons. Trying to keep it real. There could be much more in play in that young head of his, and we don't know what his motivation is.
Many young kids nowadays, in fact, are afraid of the unknown and will hang around with some bullshit in spite of the fact it's better for them to venture into that unknown. You can disregard it all you want. Knock yourself out. But none of us know what's in his head.
I'd like to see him succeed next year. So on top of all that the further point was that if he doesn't get good protections and sucks ass again in 2026 it's gonna kill his draft value. Now he may be too young to realize all that. But if he has an agent I would hope his counsel was to seek out a better program that comes with weapons and protections.
I'd also like him to succeed. He might have made a mistake going back to SC. But he's made his decision, and he'll have to live with it.
