He was in the last year of his deal and retired instead of playing.
Palmer was a douche as much as Cincinnati was being cheap.
And again, he sucked with the Raiders and appeared washed.
Cincy made out huge with that deal
He threatened to retire and when they called his bluff he did. Then they decided to trade him so he unretired. And once again it sounds like it could be happening again in Cincinnati.

Lotsa guys suck with the Raiders so that's not a newsflash.
But with Arizona he played well.

#8 in passing yds / 2013
#12 in TDs / 2013
#11 in comp % / 2013
10-6 but no playoffs

In 2015:
#4 in yds
#2 in TDs
#3 in QB rating
11-5 beat Green Bay in OT, lost to Carolina.

I don't know the guy....he could be an asshole....he certainly has Hue Jackson to thank for playing another 7 years.....but I don't see how those two performances could be labeled anything but damn good. Besides, this was not a comparison of Joe Burrow and Carson Palmer. It was all about Cincinnati being a cheap, poorly run franchise for the last 35 years or so. Just wanted to remind folks, Burrow.....if he demands a trade.....isn't the first Bengal QB to do so.

If anybody is guilty of making this a senseless discussion, it's you. I said, it was not a comparison of Burrow and Palmer. It was simply pointing out the cheap assed Bengals apparently can't keep their starting QBs healthy. You compared CP to JG and multiple posters pointed out your error. Then after making it about Palmer sucking you complain about senseless discussions. Whatever Dieter.

I've been hating the 49ers since the John Brodie days..... Don't tell me how to be a Rams fan.

Like to see you have the balls to go in a full Rams uniform at Levi Stadium surrounded by red stuff.
Since I am a grown up, no I would not do that.
I am a big time Rams fan. But I do not worship the players.

“Nearing a deal” to remain at college.
Man it’s going to take a long time to get used to this

I get it but it also is a little weird to read the words "nearing a deal" for a college athlete to return to college.
Saw something where the WR at Ohio St Smith makes more money this year as a sophmore than JSN is in Seattle.

As for Sellers I'm surprised he isn't entering the portal he'd be much better off doing that if he's staying in school.

It’s public now, whereas, before it was a back room deal.
I'm sure that's true but I don't believe for a moment that the #'s were as high as they currently are for the elite college athlete.

Cars, cash, gifts and perks most men only fantasize about ... Yes

But Millions of $ ... No way

How many QBs from the last 10 drafts can we say are "franchise QBs"? There were a lot of guys "expected" to be franchise QBs but how many really turned out to be that?

Mahomes (2017)
**Goff (2016)
Burrow (2020)
Prescott (2016) <<<<<<< not expected to be going in the 4th round
Allen (2018)
Maye (2024)

Herbert (2020)????
Love (2020)????
Hurts (2020)???? <<<<<<< expected in the 2nd round?
Lawrence (2021)????

****Mayfield (2018) ????
****Darnold (2018) ????
Lamar (2018)???? Used to be a weapon because of his legs
Tua (2020)????

Anybody else?

Stroud (2023) ???? <<<< too soon to tell????
Caleb (2024) <<< too soon!!!
Nix (2024) <<<<too soon!!!!

**Goff has played for 2 teams.
****Baker and Darnold for more than 2.

37 first round QBs in the last 10 drafts have provided how many "legit" Franchise QBs? Give me a number. 10? 15? More? Less?

I think its kind of funny deal when all these people are sure McVay only likes veteran QBs because once in his life he traded for one. He seen the same limitations of Goff we all seen and wanted a QB who could get done what he wanted to get done.
We do not know who he will pick for his next QB.
Who is any of us to say he will not pick a young stud QB to groom. He has not been in the position to draft one ever.
So, we will all see what he wants to do shortly.
Enjoy the ride.
Agreed. Goff was being talked about as a hurdle in the coaching search in fact, by the media, prior to McVay's arrival. The mainstream take, as usual, had its head up its ass. And many of them laughed over the McVay hire as well by extension. But in the end McVay elevated the offense and Goff's game significantly.

The single biggest difference between McVay and many of these other WCO coaching staffs is his preference to stretch the field vertically. It is why I say he's a Coryell soul trapped in a WCO body. And any QB he ends up drafting has to be able to keep his eyes downfield. No Mac Jones or Brock Purdys for McVay.

Bullshit. You can and you will. :laugh4:
