I feel a bit better about this pick now. It is not what I would do with the 13 pick because I feel like a player at 13 could possibly help with an immediate Super Bowl run.
I'm still disappointed tbh. I just don't believe in him like the Rams do, but I get why they took him and I'm gonna root for the kid.

Also 15's a slow number.

But for long term I do like the player and his potential. Quick feet, quick processor and could excel in the Mcvay system. He’s also a Football Junkie that could be even better then what he showed in 1 year at Alabama.

Could be a bust but worth a flyer due to being a late round pick that got converted to a 13 pick. Not alot of capital spent.

I see Mcvay really using his running ability. Something Stafford doesn’t posses.
Yeah, at worst, if he busts (he's NOT gonna bust) we spent simply the 13th pick on him. Not sone insane trade-up like 49ers did for Lance, Panthers did for Young, WE did for Goff. There’s absolutely nothing to indicate or quantify that a 13th pick spent elsewhere, WINS us the Super Bowl.

Also, he's NOT gonna bust

I'm a fan. To me his positives far outweigh the negatives.
Football junkie. Dedicated. Tough. Smart. Training under McVay and Stafford.
You never know but I feel very good about him.
I'm counting on us not drafting this high for quite a while. ;)

I like the Optimism but first round QB busts are very common. Not saying Simpson will, and I do like his skillset. It's just a fact of first round NFL QBs. Most are projecting a mid-level starter. If he reaches Mayfield, Love level it would be worth the pick, especially if we get a few cheap years out of him.

A 13th pick could have a huge impact. See Emmanwori last year. Picked at 35th. His impact was critical to their Super Bowl Run. Just to mention one recent rookie.

Trent McDuffie could have a huge impact. Pick 13 from Atlanta was a BONUS pick good teams like us rarely get. With a 38 year-old, year-ro-year Quarterback with back issues, you take a Quarterback IF there is one.

Ty Simpson...IS one.

I do love the Mcduffie and Watson deals.Massively improved our biggest weakness, with proven players.
