The biggest strength will be @Kupped and his dogged defence of dc Morris no matter what happens on the field. Expect much more this season with plenty of outs if the defense is soft as a fluffy pillow or a baby's bottom.

I think they roll the dice on the OL. Only addition will be late round types for the pipeline. I don't like it but it feels like that's the gamble, and if things work out for them then they could emerge with a solid team.

Basically if you avoid the OL other than a late round type for the pipeline or whatever you suddenly have a better chance to fill a lot of defensive holes. And still maybe come out of the draft with a young TE you like and a RB to prevent us from fully depending on Akers.

Says you? If we don't draft at least a handful of spots on defense I'll question very strongly McSneads intelligence. Based on the past I'd say the OL gets the least amount of attention and there's a new Creed Humphrey in peoples dreams and on their lips.
No doubt we will add some on defense via draft. But… a strong lean towards the offense overall is the theme I’d work towards.

Best “group”?
QB, period.
Quality backups are nice, but there’s a reason Kurt Warner is a legend. For a backup to take a team anywhere, should he be relied upon for an extended period of time, the roster has to be stacked and the coaching is good. It’s rare. Several teams each season face that situation and end up with a lost year. Nick foles finishing the SB run for the eagles was also a rarity.

Priority #1 is getting out of your division. The Rams go into 2023 with the best starting QB in the division coming off a long rest. It is the only position “group” the Rams have over the 9ers, seahawks, and cards.

Review the evidence:
2022: Stafford gets battered and beaten onto the IR and the Rams tank.
2021: Stafford remains healthy(ish) and plays the entire season. Rams win the title.

The offense is virtually intact. QB2, RB3 (depth) and OT (depth) and WR (depth)T

This draft will be focused on the D. Edge, CB, ILB, DT

In OTAs I think the OL will be LT Noteboom if he can physically go, if not Jackson, LG Thomas, C Allen, RG Bruss, RT Havenstein. OTAs will be to see if Thomas and Bruss can start this year.

QB2 is the wildcard depending upon how the draft works out and who drops. If Tune or McKee drops to 36 it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't take a QB then. If not then I think it will be edge, CB and ILB. In the 5th QB2, PK, P with a OT for depth, RB, WR and WR finally OG/C.

I anticipate Robinson being a draft day trade.

This season I think they will rely upon the offense to carry the team. If the OL plays as the FO and McVay expect them to it can be good if they stay healthy.

The defense can be good if played aggressively and they draft well. Donald will be AD and Hoecht will be better. The problem with the d will be a reliance upon a failed Fangio style read/react front. That style doesn't translate to passing down QB pressure as Denver and Detroit found out. That leaves the weight of the defense on the secondary. I'm hoping Jolly becomes the new Darious Williams, and that they draft well at CB. If Pleasant can restore the aggressive play that Staley had with his zone schemes then this defense might be good enough. But that simply means a middle of the pack ranking.

Obviously, I have no faith in Morris and his Fangio style scheme. It's been a failure since he got here. All I'm hoping for is for Pleasant to restore a higher level of play in the secondary and they will need that to stop the bleeding.

I’ll say yeah ok ? Stafford is an elite NFL QB no doubt. We can debate all that when you talk Nick Foles & winning Superbowl MVP. There was a somewhat rookie from the Rams who did it as well. There is a rookie last season if you’re talking injury. Who knows.
My view on Jarred Geoff’s NFL history will be a deciding factor?
He did take The Rams there & imo add Delvin Cook & George Kittle to that 2017 rookie class might have been extra special.

-Don’t know how WR & Stafford in 2023 don’t go hand in hand & if history tells me anything about 2017 Zach Charbonnet & a DEEP TE class would really go with this Rams group.

This L. Bruss IMO & Tutu Atwell both have to step up.If they don’t then what I’m asking for won’t work & that core Offensive group is weakend.I TRUST The Rams Front Office, but if you go back to Nick Foles first season as a Ram. Trent Williams & the SKINS got The Best of The Rams & Mcvay used a rookie 3rd draft pick who never really made it in The NFL to do it.I remember a lot of those games.
The Rams had an EXCELLENT TEAM !! RB was an issue a long with a WEAK OFFENSIVE LINE.
Lance Kendrick had a Wide Open TD against Pittsburgh.A punt returner would have caught four balls if doing a drill it was that easy. Then again it was at Steelers.
If you think Stafford can do it himself then more power to him.He had NEVER WON a Playoff game as a LION.
Jared Goff’s last game in Green Bay was pretty nice. The SEAHAGs made it by beating The Rams. There was a little question marks. To me drafting @ 36 is not as bad as it could be. We’ll see The Direction The Rams go,but IMO The Rams need a RB(bigger). That wil make Kupp,Akers, & Stafford that much more effective!!

—As a long time draftnik I believe in RB’s 2nd/3rd Rds.
That is we’re the value us a lot of times.
KC found one & drafted a lot of Defensive players.There RB they took Clyde Edwards-Helaire 5’7 207 (4.65)before Johnathan Taylor 5’10 227(4.39 40) & Cam Akers 5’10 217 (4.56)in 2020. In 2022 The Rams took K. Williams 5’9 197 (4.67)before Isaiah Pacheco 5’10 215.(4.37)

I like the bigger RB’s nice 40 times.

I think they should go BPA.

On offense the WRs definitely have the potential to be a strength of the team.

I certainly agree with BPA, particularly when we have the holes we have on the team. Not to mention, is there really a position we can't upgrade, including QB (back up and QB of the future). We don't have the luxury of being laser focused on a particular position to draft, we lost that when we lost half our roster to FA and signed zero.

The strength of this team will be their ability to lose most games by halftime. Caleb Williams in '24, the tank job is already on. I'm not depressed though, I have full confidence this will be only a 2 year slide, not the everlasting bullshit of the Spagnoulos, Fishers and other unmentionables.
