There is a play (see the 'defensive highlights' in the Rams' Utube channel) where the Titans tried a WR screen. Verse is covering the TE, who [laughably] tries to block him -- Verse bull rushes him straight towards the WR, who has to stop dead in his tracks & gets tackled.
I'm pretty sure this team doesn't care who gets the stats, you can tell these guys have all gelled together.
Oh & watch out for Josiah Stewart. This is the fast 'joker' OLB we've been looking for.
I think that was actually Nick Hampton. That play was awesome. If Verse did it as well, I missed it.

Verse had a reduced snapcount this week for sure (43 snaps vs 57 last week). Seems to have been banged up at some point.

It was Hampton who blew up the play.

I watched both games, but I'll agree, that I am over reacting a bit, only been 2 games so far ..my bad !

Maybe the Eagles game, he can breakout a lil !!

ROLL RAMS !! :sunglasses:
I get it completely. Sometimes it's hard to see a guys true value during the actual game. Because we see the plays that occur. And not all the other details.

Just let the guy keep playing, he'll figure it out. The more double/triple teams he sees, he'll learn to counter. The worry about Verse by the opposition, may be the reason we see Young getting in there. For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction!!!

I don't start judging stats until after the 4th game of the season. Then I can multiply everything by 4 and get an idea of how they will perform over the season.
Two games is not enough of a sample size.
This is fair, along with him getting nicked or semi concussed. I agree, sample size is too small

There were a few seasons where AD didn't do squat the first 2/3 games. It happens. Verse has to get better at sealing the edge, not over pursuing, and taking better angles at times.

I wait until the end of regular season and divide by 17.

Donald often took a few games to get some sacks or look like his normal self as other posters have mentioned.

Not worried yet. I noticed he was really winded at times grasping for air, so he might not be in full conditioning shape.

At his best he is similar to Chris Long, not big sack numbers but lots of pressures and impact.

I think he will always be a near miss sack guy. While disruptive and helping others get sacks, he does seem to lack that closing burst to finish off his bull rush and he does lack that quick speed rush or counter move from is bull rush. Still a heck of a player due to his power and his ability to collapse the edge into the QB, despite double teams, but I don't see him as a 10 sack a year guy unless be can improve his counter moves.

No, he actually takes bad angles. Which can and will be fixed.

Spamming the bull rush will do that. He’s needs a Quinn chop and bend or a Dwight Freeney spin move.
