Typical Fisher smokescreen, Rams visited Manziel two years ago and look how that turned out.

His reputation is done if he's wrong.

No it isn't. He isn't out there issuing guarantees or even suggesting that he knows who the pick is. It's a guess and that's what he is putting it out there as.

5/6 of the NFL.com Draftnics have Wentz going #1 including Bucky Brooks who said he thinks it should be Goff.

Only Casserly says Goff in his mock.

No one holds draft speculation against someone unless they claim to know. And I haven't seen anyone do that yet.

" Just a thought!!" But wouldn't it be a 'Hoot!' If the rams take Wentz and the 49ers get Goff, and then we meet in the week#1 opener in San Francisco!! What a T.V. Draw that would be!!
Again, just a thought! NOT that I want it!!:fuelfire::D
If the Whiners got Goff I would be worried. I do not want the Rams playing against him twice a year for the next decade, so hoot is probably the wrong word lol.

It would certainly be interesting to see their respective development in the same division though.

I personally fail to see any clear advantage to dragging this out and keeping hush. It isn't like you can't change your mind if your QB goes all Johnny Football before the draft. The people clamoring about possibly trading with Cleveland fail to see that the only way that works is if Snisher truly see both QBs as tied, because the Browns can smokescreen to try and induce a trade as much as the Rams can. It isn't worth losing your guy to try and be cute in this situation to net an extra pick.

Only logical reason I have heard is that the NFL instructed them not to say anything in order to drive up viewership for the draft.

Sure. But why misdirect if you didn't know who you were taking in the first place?

Just throw a name out there? Or, why misdirect when you have the first pick in the draft? I don't see any real value to it unless you just want to freak with your opponents.
If they don't know who they are taking in the first place, why is Silver so adamant about Goff being the choice? What does it hurt to run a little misdirection Cleveland's way? With a week and a half to go, maybe they decide to move up and give the Rams another pick or two. There is no reason for the Rams to show their hand yet.

Haha yeah wherever they end up, I can't wait to watch these two develop and compete throughout their careers.

As if going to this San Fran team wouldn't be bad as it is for Goff, but playing our defense in your first regular season game. Poor kid.

And no matter where they go or who goes first - their careers will always be tied together. If one turns out significantly better than the other - then Les better hope he gets it right.

Okay, you're right. There was never a reputation to lose. None of these guys know anything. Especially if they have us taking anyone other than Goff. Too bad Bucky sold out.

But if you change your mind and take the other guy, then you look stupid for selling the farm for a guy that you didn't even end up drafting. If they keep it quiet who they like, and one of them gets a DUI, then they can just claim that they loved the other one from the start.

You only look stupid if the QB you draft is a bust.

With the 1st overall pick in the 2016 draft the Rams select... OT Laremy, Tunsil out of Mississippi.

Media: Wow, Fisher you guys fooled everyone with this pick, what are you going to do about your QB situation?

Fisher: Well we're going to solidify our OL, we have a great running back in Todd and if we can just build around him we'll stand a good chance in the division. we said from day 1 Case is our guy heading into OTAs and it will be a open competition with Nick and Sean.

Hahaha, imagine? :rolllaugh:

I have a bad feeling about this
I just don't want SF to get their guy. Cleveland should just stand pat and get their guy.

If SF moves up and gets one of these two, I will have a bad feeling too. BUT, as Snead says, you can't play scared. You just do your due diligence. We are in control. Get your guy. Prepare him. And kick some booty.

Cleveland is the Niners little brother, just like Tennessee is ours. SF has connections there because of the DeBartolo family. I would not be surprised if there were some deal worked out with the Browns.

I just have this fear that the Rams will end up with Alex Smith and the 49ers will end up with Aarons Rodgers

If it was anybody but the 49ers

Paxton Lynch was our guy all along. We had a feeling a team would jump ahead of us at 15...:shocking:
