We started out en fuego with Boom out there. Running the ball well and Jared started out with 13 straight completions. Everybody was playing well. Then we slowed down but he got hurt then the whole offense picked it back up.

Posted early yesterday I would prefer David Edwards should continue to be the Rams starting LG teamed with Andrew Whitworth. I have watched Edwards perform in four of Kromer's OL posts & believe LG is the best place for him to play. I had thought that Kromer may have been looking down the road making Edwards a RT but I see no reason for it when you have Rob Havenstein making a comeback & Bobby Evans already waiting in the wings in that place.

I would like to see Kromer take this present time to commit to Edwards now @ LG & let him know this is his future for the next 3 seasons is @ LG. Resolve this post as he did with Rodger Saffold. Mainly due to the fact Joseph Noteboom can not be what is needed @ LG.

Once Joseph Noteboom's calf has healed, IMO it would be best to marry him with Andrew Whitworth @ that LT post for the rest of the season. I want Whitworth to play in the playoff-like he is playing these first two gms. Keeping Whitworth fresh with working reserve LT Noteboom in @ appropriate time to acquire the needed snaps needed for Whitworth just makes too much sense. Its also not fair to Noteboom who talents are a far better match for what is needed to play LT in the NFL.

We have seen two straight seasons where Whitworth shows signs over the last quarter of the 2018/2019 seasons of trending downward in his on-field performance. Why not take advantage & use of Noteboom in an attempt to cease this ongoing event with Whitworth @ LT.

His level of play was basically the same until his injury.
The team wasn’t hot because of him and didn’t cool down because of him either.
Sometimes, the other guys make plays too.

I can’t see any possible way Noteboom could be considered at LT given his specific shortcomings.

I agree with Edwards staying the LG going forward.

Having Noteboom work solely at LT may be the last attempt to save his career with the Rams.

I would imagine this is why Noteboom won the LG job. He is athletic enough to pull or to get to the second level.
But he can’t play.
At least at this point.
I’ve said it 50 times but he can’t play with balance.
With Boomers hockey experience why isn't he more balance/agile?

I climbed off Boom's ass when I saw how much stronger he was this season. He did improve quite a bit and moves well.

But he is no Edwards. The line we saw yesterday when he replaced Boom looks like our best 5.

And btw Corbett hasn't gotten much love around these parts but is quietly killing it.

Blythe is smart but needs strong OG play next to him and he's been getting it for the most part. We still need a LT and C of the future but I'm very comfortable at this point with the OL.

We just gotta pray for health and we should be in business.

And sometimes the guy that gets shit on makes plays too. I only remember one bad okay for Boom, not saying he was great but he takes a lot more shit than he likely deserves. At this point just based on his injuries I’m ready to move on but I don’t get the constant pleasure some get from shitting on Boom.

Naw.
He was his normal self, playing on roller skates, but, he did make a couple of nice blocks.
The frustrating things with Noteboom is he is close in a lot of ways....which also means he has shortcomings in several areas.
For now at least he needs to stay on the bench.

Watch it again. I just did and he was bad. Watch all the way through just focusing on Joe. Then on Edwards.

It’s not pleasure. It’s frustration. Again watch the game and only focus on Noteboom.

Exactly. Its all undeserved. I said before the season starts he's JAG, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Most players are JAGs.

I agree but how long does he need to stay on the bench to develop? He sat his entire rookie year getting groomed to play guard and it didn't help at all. While Edwards has now been thrown into the fire multiple times, as a rookie and 2nd year player and shown well. Hes earned the playing time with his performance.

At what point do we accept the fact that Noteboom hasn't and wont develop into a solid guard? And by putting him in there we are risking injury to our franchise QB or our losing a game due to his poor play? Honestly with what we've seen through 3 years I doubt he is our LT of the future. Evans or Edwards I feel are just better football players. Every draft pick doesn't pan out and that's okay.

I’m not shitting on him, it’s just what I see.
I think he is playing better this year than last.
Overall his pass blocking has seemed to improve.
The worst of the group is always going to get crap.
I thought Joseph-Day was a nice surprise last year, but, he isn’t as good as Brockers or Donald, so he got a lot
Of crap from posters.
There is a wide gap between being the weakest of a position group and “he sucks” however.

As long as Edwards out plays him.
If that’s one week so be it.
If that’s the rest of the year so be it.
After the season, like every year, he would be part of analyzing the OL as a whole and he is either brought back or not.
