I don't know how much stock I would put into this... Since 2018 We've been to two superbowls and won one.The last 1000 yard rusher for the Rams was Gurley in 2018. I say they need one also.

Plus 2019 was the last year with a bunch of 1k rushers (16) the last two years averaged 8 in the NFL.I don't know how much stock I would put into this... Since 2018 We've been to two superbowls and won one.
Just stating the facts sir.I don't know how much stock I would put into this... Since 2018 We've been to two superbowls and won one.
Belichick-mart is always open.Hell yeah, lets go down to Wall-mart. They have top notch RB's on sale right now.
The RB position is at best our 3rd greatest need IMO
OL & Edge, are top 2. TE depth, DB's are still being sorted out, even WR if VJ doesn't return.
OL help will tangentially help the RB room, Edge will help the DB's
Those 2 positions will have the greatest impact, unless somehow we were able to procure a top 5 RB and I don't see that as realistic
@Riverumbbq I was certainly pleasantly surprised by AJ & Shelton. I hope they can build on this, My one hesitation is that the ATL Pass Rush isn't in the class of the teams we will face later in the year. I am hoping for the best here, If we can get some wins and keep this group healthy they should only get better. That size of AJ with Shelton @ Center should certainly help in the run game, let's see how they do in pass protection against some of the fronts we will be facing.
I was kidding by the way. But wouldn't let me edit it. SorryJust stating the facts sir.
Turnovers are an easier fox imo. Kupp had the ball punched out. It happens but not often to him.I'm less concerned about the effectiveness of the running game, because I think it was alright, than I am about turnovers.
Add to three turnovers, a massive breakdown on the punt and you have recipe for disaster. Rams were good enough to overcome it for a win.
The defense gave up less than 20 points, so that's not bad and they got three sacks.. and Donald blew up the play where Ramsey got the int.
Still need another edge pass rusher..
The defense took weeks to gel last year and I think it's going to be better, sooner, this year.
Still really hoping that Rochelle will step up.
It's scheme more than the RBs. Look how just adding Skowronek as a lead blocker helped. Ben isn't a good FB but he's better than no lead blocker. They have a legit FB in Roger Carter on the PS designated as a TE. C'mom man why Benny Skow when they got a legit FB on the PS? WRs impede the tackler, they don't blow them out of holes and create gaps.
I'm hoping this was an experiment and seeing how well it worked they will sign Carter to the active roster this week. When the RB is getting hit behind or at the LOS you aren't going to get much yardage, and you will eventually get your RBs hurt which is exactly what is happening.
Due to the outcome of the 2021 season I'd say that statistic is rather meaningless, wouldnt you say?In 2021 the Rams only had three runs that went for 20 yards or more, the whole season. That ranked 31st among NFL teams.
Derrick Henry is averaging 3.1 per carry, though I doubt Tennessee is looking to replace himSome other RB's off to slow start:
Joe Mixon 3.0 YPC
James Connor 3.0 YPC
Najee Harris 2.9 YPC
Kenyan Drake 2.3 YPC
No time to panic, it's way too early
Totally valid concerns about the issues that *can* be fixed.Turnovers are an easier fox imo. Kupp had the ball punched out. It happens but not often to him.
The punt block was a gaffe in protection.
The interceptions were because Stafford is locking into his target on some plays. He can get back to reading the entire field, as long as he doesn’t have Dlinemen a foot from sacking him. Answer to that is go back to adding the play action fakes to keep the DLine from teeing off, and hopefully the Oline play improves. (The hard part).
The injury history of the two starting runningbacks cannot be fixed. I thought they’d draft another one this year, not a third down type.
The point I was making was that the Rams running game lacked a big play element, so I would not say.Due to the outcome of the 2021 season I'd say that statistic is rather meaningless, wouldnt you say?
