The reality is Akers is averaging 2.4 per carry. He hasn't been the same. Not sure the Rams don't make a move and drop him before the trade deadline. He isn't good in pass pro and if he isn't being productive then what's the point.

Our run game is only there to set up the pass.

If we could get away with throwing the ball more, we would.

Stafford is still getting comfortable.

At least he didn't fumble. :drum: :laugh4:

I'm less concerned about the effectiveness of the running game, because I think it was alright, than I am about turnovers.

Add to three turnovers, a massive breakdown on the punt and you have recipe for disaster. Rams were good enough to overcome it for a win.

The defense gave up less than 20 points, so that's not bad and they got three sacks.. and Donald blew up the play where Ramsey got the int.

Still need another edge pass rusher..

The defense took weeks to gel last year and I think it's going to be better, sooner, this year.

Still really hoping that Rochelle will step up.

Which was my point the last two years in which some are finally starting to wake up to the reality.

We need a premier feature back to bring back the versatility of McVays offense, pretty soon we are going to get stonewalled again like the Bears did to us in 2018 that created the blueprint to stop McVay before he stubbornly changed things up to start rolling again.

We need a premier RB and some OL help.
We also need McVay to be “less stubborn“ as well. What I mean by that is mix personnel packages a little more often.

McVay's predictability in regards to the running game can be very frustrating, and Stafford being more vulnerable to the defensive rush on longer 3'rd & whatever plays instead of 3'rd & short because we routinely dismiss our own rush isn't doing anything to help preserve our QB's longevity or arm.
The Rams certainly provided the 'beef' on the right side with Alaric Jackson & Havenstein, and with Coleman Shelton back working at his strongest position, Center, ... it looks like we're now playing from a new deck of cards. I'll be anxiously awaiting PFF's Rams OL grades today, that and any comments from those fans who re-watch the game while focusing on our OL.
jmo.

The sample size for Cam is still small (90 total rushes and 13 receptions over seven games, of which he was minimally involved in two of them), but it is starting to add up to something meaningful. The 2.43 yards per carry average is bad no matter how you present it, and of his reception yards (104), 40 came on that trick play throw from OBJ. Take that out and it's 12 catches for 64 yards - 5.33 per reception - also not acceptable.

I have my fingers crossed that he is still working his way back from the Achilles injury, and that we will see a return of his burst, but time is beginning to run out for him to show it. Achilles injuries are often a career ender. Sometimes it means the RB never comes back, and sometimes he comes back and he isn't the same. I am ok to give him a few more games to see if it happens, but ... the clock is definitely ticking on his once VERY promising career.

Henderson has played well do far. Main problem is the fact that we're not running the ball like we should be... passing too much in the red zone

Henderson and Akers are fine as backups, but we need a premier running back.

So you just want the Rams to release Akers? You've given-up on him already?

HBs seemed fine to me today. If Kareem Hunt hit the market, I'd be interested. Otherwise, I'm not too concerned.
Hunt is probably the closest to an "every down back" that's on a team as their second option. I'd love to make a push for him but doubt we could afford him. I almost feel like we need a punishing RB that could pound the ball in between the tackles for those short hard yards. Kind of like what CJ Anderson offered us during his short stint.

Granted I'd hate to hit the panic button on a RB. I feel like our RB's woes are related to our offensive line problems than anything.

I thought so too, but how much of that was because it was the Falcons' front as opposed to the Bills'?

Anchrum has to be bummed, because it was his moment to show what he can do.

Both good points for sure, but that falcon DL did alright vs the saints and ol’ grady was neutralized.

I’m not sure the falcons are gonna be as bad as everyone (myself included) thought.
