Awsome.
Man, I wish I could have made the Seattle game with you guys.
All in on @CodeMonkey "come as you are" persona. I'm the same way at sporting events.

We had a blast, made it to the Oyster Bar after @RamFan503, and it was really good. Crawfish Etouffee, crab cakes, and BBQ shrimp that might have been the best shrimp in a sauce I've ever had and there was nothing even remotely BBQ about it.

Is this the Establishment owned by our own Admin @RamFan503 ? If all that suff you mentioned was made by him,ya'll need to get our guys place on Diners Driveins & Dives with food like @RamzFanz mentioned . Sounds freakin Awesome.:grouphug:Did ya'll get a Chefs Discount?:D

Nah - I'm in Oregon. But any of you guys get the chance to go to the Lou - you HAVE to check out the Broadway Oyster Bar. Serious good eats and drinks and awesome atmosphere. One of my new top 5 and I've been to a few ridiculously good restaurants in my life.

yep good food right door to Pappys.

We ate at Southern on Saturday too. Hot fried chicken and intersting sandwiches like bacon and fried green tomatoes. Country style sides like greens and beets, and mashed taters and gravy.

The chicken is really hot and comes in four variations: mild, hot, insane hot, and general tso. They gave us a sample of mild which was the hotest damn mild Ive ever seen! I got hot and tso which were both very spicy. Tso has a savory tang which I think makes it my fave. The super hot must just be rediculous though.

I think it's the same folks that run pappys bbq (which is to die for!) next door in the same building. I noticed that the next over store site in that building is being turned into something and had to wonder if theyre expanding into yet a third restaurant there.

Our visit after the game was my first but it wont be my last. That place is fantastic. We did see some browns fans in there so the word must be getting out. One of them actually snuck white castle burgers from across the street in. Ha! Browns fans are a pretty cool lot. We had fun talking to them.

I already cant wait for my next visit to the Broadway Oyster Bar though. The bbq shrimp were so rich and good its hard to believe they're even legal. Next time im getting that bucket of steamed crawfish though that I saw someone else get.

Great food and an easy cool atmosphere too. They have live music all the time. There was an old boy playing the delta blues on a steel guitar when we were there. Good stuff!

Okay, you guy's have convinced me. Coming down for the Cards game so how busy is the Oyster Bar on Saturdays? I see they're open on Sundays too and by their web site, it looks pretty small. Suggestions? Just thinking about bbq shrimp and steamed crawfish is making my mouth water......

OK - I gotta say. So being that we couldn't get in Saturday night, a few of us ventured over to grab some White Castle to hold us over until we could get some food somewhere. It was me, my dad, my two boys, and @VegasRam . I mean this a no offense to anyone who likes WC but that shit was inedible. Like little greasy almost beef things with some goo I think they said was cheese and a bun that was like a slider bun injected with grease. WTF exactly is the allure of that place? Those things were without a doubt the worst things I have ever gotten from a fast food place. I seriously don't get it. @VegasRam - back me up here.

It's DEFINITELY an acquired taste.

I know a lot of out of towners who feel the same as you.

They have a pretty good system where they will text you when they have a table if one is not available when you get there. There are a couple bars close by where you can get a drink while you wait and Ball Park Village is pretty close. We went Sunday and got right in. It's not as small as you might imagine. But you will absolutely not regret it. IIRR, it wasn't even all that spendy though I could be wrong there. My dad insisted on picking up the tab for the whole freaking table. I think @VegasRam and @RhodyRams picked up the tip cuz my dad was not going to let us pay for anything else.

Seriously though, seems to me it was a little less than most restaurants in downtown Portland and the food was outstanding.

It wasnt at all crowded when we went which was right after the game. Zero line. The wait is hours for weekend dinner though it seems. I would advise you to shoot for a late lunch to avoid the crowd. The patio section with the live music is where to be.

We tried to get a table on Saturday night, but ended up at the Budweiser brew house. They texted us but by then we had eaten and were checking out girls in chaps!!

Thanks guys. Definitely want to catch some live music so we'll shoot for early Sunday evening.
