Tutu has won me over. I like him as a player, if you remove his draft slot. I say keep him if he is cheap. And I don't see why he would not be.
He does some work clearing things out deep for some of the underneath stuff. He also effective on crossers and especially that deep out.

Weird decision to not kick the FG early.
McVay has done that a couple of times this year and it has not been a benefit. I assume it has more to do with having a play they he liked a lot situationally rather than not trusting the kicker. If he doesn't trust Karty that much then he shouldn't be on the game day roster.
The Saints followed the Patriots model by doing quick sort passes to avoid the pass rush. Darius Williams has been burned deep two weeks in a row now against bigger WRs.
Rozeboom had a very good game. He has played much better since Reeder was replaced by Speights. Speights had a solid game as well.
Avila had a better game and improved since his return. Limmer and Jackson were hit and miss on the day. It was good to have Havenstein back.
McVay sticking with the run was key.
The D keeping things close enough for McVay to not panic and desert the run was big as well.

I think the o'line will only get better with Higs in there blocking here soon. Hes not Hunter Long and get knocked on his ass every two mins. Give credit that long tries. Lines will open up even more for Kyren.
I still like the potential of Allen but he can be brutal in the blocking game. Long is certainly a better blocker but can be hit and miss as well.

You never know with kickers, remember Dicker the kicker? He’s turned into a reliable quality guy.
I said exactly that earlier too lol

I get that stance too. If we aren't going to use Karty, bench him and sign a vet. I don't want another Dicker situation where we get rid of a rookie that turns into an All Pro. Kickers are rarely truly reliable as rookies.

It's the protections. Every time Stafford starts a game and gets instant pressure he goes into that self preservation mode and our offense looks like dog shit. Then by the third quarter it feels like they improve it a bit and/or Stafford says fuck it and does what he has to do.

The dude is old and trying to preserve himself, as he should, he's already streaky as it is. So I think the focus has to be on starting games with good protections. There is still way too much disconnect there. And we're never gonna know where the disconnect is. I mean is it the gameplanning is shit? Or is it that our rook Center is fucking up and Stafford's getting thrown off his game. The protections are ultimately on the QB but to some extent he's gonna need help from that Center up front.

If they cannot figure that out then maybe start playing Jimmy first half and Stafford second half. That shit would piss Matt off I am sure, but they need to find a way to get some first half production.
I’d like them to start in more 12 man formations. Also notice that the screen game has been non existent. That is a huge missing piece that they used last season.

Just think how much more effective he’d be with some size and toughness. A Tee Higgins type would be an enormous improvement.

The run helped to reduce the Saints pass rush. They should also stick to the bootlegs. But where are those great screens from last season?

Great 2nd half comeback!!! I *think* these slow offensive starts are a result of McVay's preparation. Not knocking the guy but he has to do better with his scheming there. We've seen it too many times...and it seems to frustrate Stafford.

The adjustments at the half are a credit to McVay. The Rams cannot start slow against the Bills or it may be 21-0 before they even get started.

No one's gonna want to hear this..
but..
if he's cheap.. they should keep Tutu.

For all of his faults.. he's hella fast.. runs good routes and catches the ball.
League min + ?
1.5-3 mill per season would work
Cant see why anyone would have a problem with that.

Our first game of the year with our 5 preferred starters on the O-line.
And did you see how they run blocked in the 2nd half?
I hope McVay did. That’s how the Rams can beat the bills next week.

Saw a tweet the Ravens have lost 4 games by a combined 22 points. In those 4 games Justin Tucker has missed 22 points in kicks. Normally one of the absolute best
Once it gets in your head and you loose confidence, it is hard to get it back. Who was that cardinals pitcher who was really great at first then couldn't throw strikes. Your head can really fuck you up.

ya... Ankiel smh.
He was going to be the next great Cardinal pitcher. Lefty, cannon for an arm, but he lost his mojo & never got it back. LaRussa ruined him, putting him in at SP for the playoffs when he just wasn't ready yet.
Was a pretty good outfielder tho, some of his throws from OF to Home are all-time greats. And good batter, too.
But oh, what might have been. I still think about him from time to time.

Thank God we pulled this one out. I had thoughts of the Bears game watching this. Still puzzled how we lost to that team and its still biting us in the ass. Love the push the OL got in the run game and vision our 2 backs had this game to cut when needed. Its becoming pretty clear that our OL is far better at run blocking then pass blocking. Let's lean into it. We have 2 stud RB's.

The defense played well for the most part, however, the secondary sure needs to improve. We desperately need a #1 CB.

Given time, Stafford is amongst the best in the league, when he is rushed, its a whole different story.

On to the next! GO RAMS!
