I never considered this team to win less than 9 games this year. Now we’ll be lucky to win 9 games over 2 seasons.
Another double digit loss season and they need to clean house

Backup QB gonna Backup QB

I respectfully disagree.

There are a number of backup QBs out there that don’t look like a HS QB shocked to be in an NFL game. There was maybe one or two NFL caliber throws from Rypien all day. The rest were shit you could see in the parking lot

I don’t know what McVay sees in various players in practice, but there’s no way he’s seeing a competent QB. How???

I'm not sure what to make of this team. On the one hand I want to tell myself to be optimistic, that a lot of things will be better next year. On the other hand, I can't find myself optimistic about this team's future with what we've seen out of McVay and Company the past two seasons. You can say I lack the confidence in our coach and GM.

I don't mind losing, as Rams fans we've been through the dark times. What I do mind is seeing the same old tired shit during a season we should be trying things out to improve our future - on offense AND defense. Can this team draft the right players? Even if we do, do we stick with this same old offensive scheme? Will McVay do some soul searching and come to terms with the fact that a lot of our issues fall squarely on his shoulders and offensive play calling? Will he give up the responsibility?

Who really knows.

Please holy fate, draft Brock Bowers or trade for Kyle Pitts in the off-season; we need an actually good tight end.
For what? We don't even use the ones we've drafted. This team rewards mediocrity - see the Higbee extension.

Next year we'll have a full slate of early picks every round and tons of cap space. McVay and Morris definitely need to self scout, as I'm a moron and I know what play they're calling 90% of the time. But I'm not worried. If you're a coach of a team long enough, you'll have seasons like this and last year.

For missing Jones I thought the D did well. Evans earned his paycheck today. Next draft/offseason we need to address the OL and QBotF

Not every round. Right now we have our 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We sent our 4th to Pitt. Got their 5th to go with our 5th and 6th. We're currently projected to get 2 6th and 2 7th round comp picks.

I said it then and I still feel the same. When Mcvay wasn’t sure he wanted to come back two years in a row , I would’ve said goodbye. How can you trust a guy like that. No one has ever done that I can remember. He gave us a Super Bowl win , but he hasn’t shown he can coach up an average team. Not even close

I don't. I'm still looking for the team with the perfect backup qb. :laugh1:

Yeah, after the bye it’s Seattle, AZ, Cleveland and Baltimore

With the way we’re playing, we’ll be lucky to win another game.

Clearly we can’t play in rain. I’d hate to see us in deep cold

It sucks because we have some pieces. They just don’t show up on the same day

Kobie Turner had a HELLUVA game and Byron Young played well as well. AD was AD. That’s not a team

No one showed up on offense. The OL was on roller skates all game.

I disagree with this statement. When he came in as HC his first year, he turned shit around really quick. He's shown that he's capable of doing it, the question is whether he still has that same drive and desire to do it again. These next two seasons will tell us a lot. I, personally, think a lot needs to change. You can have a slam dunk draft and FA period but if you keep rolling with this 11 personnel shit and refuse to adapt your offense, none of it is going to matter. We'll win a few more games, maybe even make it to the playoffs a few times but the longer McVay stays stubborn the more this team is going to suffer.

The backup QB for the Bears… Bagnet? I dunno, but he balled out even if they didn’t win. At least they were competitive.

Perfect isn’t the goal… competent is and we’re so far from that it’s silly.

I knew we were going to lose the moment I saw Rypien on the field. But that said...

:angry:It is nutlessness, plain and simple, to settle for Rypien as our backup. There is no universe where he is good enough. People have bitched in the past about Wolford, who is a fucking idiot, but at least he competes and gets through his reads. At least he has the balls to look down the fucking field. Rypien was completely focused on the rush and even anticipating pressure and ignoring open receivers. He has absolutely zero clue, and his performance is about equivalent to one of us lining up today at QB. Fucking garbage. If they don't cut his ass on Monday they have zero expectations to compete, which is actually possible if they're thinking about losing games tactically on their way to a high pick.

:angry:It is also nutlessness to see our OL spring leaks to Green Bay's front for 3 fucking hours in all down and distance situations. Noteboom alone I could rant about in a solo thread (the fact McVay thinks he is a starter makes me rage just thinking about it) but you also had some others contributing here like Jackson whiffing on his guy on 4th and 2. This OL just like QB today was absolute and total garbage. And the worst thing is I don't think McVay/Snead as a duo will be able to unfuck it. First off getting them to dedicate high picks to it is about impossible when they want to grab toys up top, but there is just a complete and total disregard for physicality even when they know goddamn well they must be physical to compete in this game because of 9 being out. We need dawgs up front. Guys who want to beat that ass in front of them and pound them into the ground.

:angry:Third nutlessness award goes to our secondary, who for a third week has looked like dogshit. All I can say is we are very fortunate that Green Bay is so terrible, and that their QB is a backup, because if they had started Rodgers today they would have hung 50+ on these clowns. You cannot fucking tell me that Tomlinson is not good enough to start for this bunch. I don't care which coach he pissed off, I would make the staff bench Spoon because he is a veteran and knows better, and I'd start Tomlinson in his place vs Seattle.

:angry:I feel sorry for AD being out there and busting his ass for the Southeast Los Angeles Technical College defense. Because it's a fucking waste of a top talent. There were some positives, but this is a vent thread so I'll conveniently overlook them and say this run defense effort by the front seven was just as bad as any other of the shit efforts we witnessed today. Which is saying a great deal.

I love Les Snead but have to say if I was the owner his ass would be on fire when he leaves my office on Monday morning. Same goes for McVay. Subjecting the fans to this offense is goddamn embarrassing. And as far as Morris is concerned, I would greatly enjoy hearing his excuses for why he is playing Spoon over Tomlinson or Yeast over Lake while I contemplate axing his ass and maybe McVay as well, so I can position myself to be in the lead for attracting Harbaugh to a situation with a high pick and his choice of GM.

I've been nothing but loyal to this regime. McVay is my favorite Rams coach ever. But I am fucking done being subjected to shitters over and over and over at the same positions, and trotting Rypien out there as the starter and then leaving him in that game is unforgivable to me. You can say well maybe Winn would have been worse. To which I reply let's at least find out how bad he is because Rypien is a pile of shit.

Can't remember the last time I have been this furious. Fucking livid.

QB situation is proof that either McSnead are the worst combo in the NFL or they are tanking outright.

Vikes pick up Dobbs on Tuesday and he has about 4TDs in 1/2 a game. Our backup plays like a Jr High QB after being here all along.

Pathetic.

@SeminoleRam I’m not sure we watched the same game. We were on our 2nd string QB who should be bagging groceries, and our 3rd string RBs. No Jones and two LBs who are poor performers in the NFL.

The only bad call i could put squarely on McVay was the 3rd down pitch to Skow.
Except not having a good backup QB. Especially after last year.
