Why ask a question, where the answer to it would defend or refute a point of view, and yet not have the answer?
I am still hopeful that things turn around, but another 5-12 season tells me that changes need to be made
When I look thru the records of the coaches that I think are good/great, I dont see total train wreck seasons back to back
I was asking a question, not making a statement. I wasn't aware of any of the NFL greats like Shula, Landry, Noll, Walsh or Jimmy Johnson ever running into the kind of statistical-outlier injury seasons like the Rams had last year in a key position group.

Though speaking of Walsh, was he a hack when the Niners went 2-7 and missed the playoffs in the strike-shortened 1982 season? Of course not...

McVay looks like he’s going to retire and going into the broadcasting booth. This might be his last ride with the Rams.

Wait, you said they said it, but now you're saying that you said it?
Glad for you its working out the way you hoped
But now its gonna be a reset, ok Ill play.
They wont be in great cap space, & Donald's contract is up after next year. So how is this reset going to happen? All these holes to fill AND have to replace Donald. And then Stafford
So what are we talking? 5 years? 10?
Yes I also stated plenty of times that we'd be a bottom 5 team when we were doing predictions in the off season. I also said they are obviously writing off 2023 as a lost year. I'm also on record saying I hated that shit because I felt it was fucked up to the vets like Donald, Stafford, and Kupp, but here we are. Snead said it was a reset. Demoff alluded to this in his season letter to Rams season ticket holders. How much more do you need to hear? Asking for someone to predict what the turnaround time is for the reset is not a great question. I'm not a FO worker nor do I know the plans the Rams have in store, but apparently they sticking to it as evidenced by their inactivity in signing any players this off season. If I had to guess, they are going to go all in for next year with the core we have and the players that they have identified as worthy to be on the roster long term.

the world is full of entertainment options. Most cities are able to fill their stadiums with their fans. And most of them have not had our level of recent success - not even close.
I went climbing in the mountains instead of watching this shit show. I can’t blame anyone else for not blowing money on this product. I’ve got 22 years of bleeding blue and yellow too. Newbs would obviously choose something else and save the cash lol

If he even so much as hints at it, he should be immediately fired, regardless of what he would have ultimately decided. To go through that will-he-or-won't-he saga every year is chaos for the locker room. It will also see him lose the room, as many will no doubt wonder if his head and heart are in it publicly musing about returning or not each year.

So how many 5-6 win seasons can they have before you want a coaching change?
Honestly? I'd give McVay 4 losing seasons before I'd consider replacing him.

His five-year run from 2017 to 2021 was just absolutely phenomenal. Going from last to first on offense. 5 winning seasons in a row, 4 playoff runs, 2 SB appearances, 1 championship.

The guy has absolutely proved he has what it takes for sustained excellence. Photographic memory, great leader, great offensive mind.

Yeah, last year was a combo of bad decisions and bad luck. And this year is just paying off the credit card IMO.

I fully expect a terrific rebound next year and continued success.

So yeah I'd give McVay a super-long leash because he's so obviously demonstrated he's capable of taking a team all the way.

Just my 2 cents

I know this is just your opinion but 4 losing seasons? No shot. He would be fired in the middle of the 3rd losing season if I didn't see major improvement. 4 losing seasons after a sb is inexcusable. But that's just me.

Are current draft status due to our stellar play this season.

Never thought we’d be this high, however with Stafford back and an easier schedule we should get back to that lower double digit area (10-14).

I haven't seen any indication of this, just projection of pissed-off fans.

Maybe I'm missing it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. no way does this season's roster look like this with McVay in charge unless he was committed for at LEAST two seasons. At least.

Nothing to get too worked up about.

We had a shitty third string QB at the helm.

Why we didn't replace Rypien after seeing how inept he was in preseason is beyond me.

I think Mcvay emphasizes familiarity in system over talent way too much and it constantly bites him in the ass.

Jackson and Noteboom are revealing themselves as huge disappointments.

The glaring holes are still the ones left by the departed ones (2021 Super Bowl players) due to retirement and cap issues.

CB- Ramsey, LT- Whitworth, Pass Rushers (Miller, Floyd, Gaines).

Yeast looked real bad today. Destroyed in the run game by Watson and failed to make a key play on a ball just thrown up for grabs.

If Stafford was in, we probably win the game vs the Pack. But maybe it's good he wasn't.

Due to the lack of trade deadline moves, we are clearly looking towards 2024 as an Organization. That is fine.

We still had a nice Rookie haul and are in position to make a 2024 run, so I am not selling Donald, Stafford or Kupp.

Mcvay needs to stop getting cute on third and 1 with the end arounds. Why not use this game to practice the Tush Push?

The lack of short passes and slants still boggles my mind.

.

When I found out Stafford was unlikely to play last night I didn't even bother getting up in the morning. By the time I got up the game was in the 2nd qtr but I didn't want to see it. Put on the redzone channel, fell asleep again on the couch.

Every time they showed the Rams d they were making a play, well until the 4th qtr at least. Then they were getting torched. Typical.

Every time they showed the offense they were bumbling around going nowhere. A common theme for the Mcvay offense the last couple of years.

Not me. I call the people wanting him gone a knee jerk reaction to a shitty game today. We have a shit team talent and depth wise. Its not to say there us zero talent , but we need more talent to be taken seriously. Anyone that thought this was a contending team are some of the most optimistic people around. We were given hope early on when this team was outperforming the expectations, but now they are crashing back down to earth. They literally told fans it was about 2024. Now you are mad that it's looking that way? It is entertaining and funny to read these reactions tho hahaha. Gotta love the fandom no matter how its presented
This has less to do with talent level and looking ahead to 2024 than people think. The worry is that McVay is not progressing and improving as a Head Coach/play caller. Dont hijack the narrative.

It doesn’t seem to be about the product. We were a 50/50 or 60/40 stadium when we were hosting the NFC Championship Game.

This team has had the kind of recent success that most canvases would give a nut for.

After that beat down by the Cowboys, I finally accepted the fact that this team is shit this season. I'm disappointed for Donald, Stafford, and Kupp because they deserve better. I understand all the reasons the Rams are not good this season; having to go all in to win the Superbowl a few years ago by mortgaging the future. Also, the huge contracts for Stafford and Donald along with the dead money being paid to players no longer on the roster have handcuffed this team. I do think that Les, Sean, and Raheem could have done a better job this season and should be held responsible for some of the choices they have made. For example, Les not vetting Bennett well enough before the draft; Sean's questionable play calling at times; and Raheem continuing to play Kendricks, this season and not giving Tomlinson a chance.
