McVay and Stafford have to be better. They both get paid to elevate the offense and neither did tonight. Yes the OL is on life support but their leaders were both bad.

On to week 5

I actually agree. I'm a Morris critic but as the game went on, the defense did fine.

A McVay and Stafford team should not lose when the defense gives up 17 points.

Once we start getting healthier I really think this team will dramatically improve. I think McVay is really struggling to find ways to overcome the very depleted O-line. When you face very good defenses like the 9ers then that is just going to look even worse. At least until Van Jefferson comes back I really think Tutu needs to be active. Sending him deep a few plays a game will at least make the safeties back up a little and who knows maybe you will hit on a few. We just have absolutely no deep threat right now

Some guy on reddit posted that we should just forfeit our games with the Niners at this point and give our boys some extra bye weeks. I laughed but then thought to myself "what good ever comes of these games?" And the answer is nothing, if anything we lose players to injury. We'd never do it, obviously, but it really is THAT bad against these guys.
Sounds like some shit a modern fan would say. Why compete. It's too hard. We're gonna lose. Why keep score.

But it's not a bad idea. :laugh4:

This looks like the 2020 team. Nothing thrown more than 15 yards. Teams creeping up challenging those pass plays and that often results in turnovers.

Need a deep threat and the OL has to be able to hold up for 3 secs.... and better run blocking would help as well.

That is tough to do when he is getting the ball out in 2 seconds or less. The problem has been on the back end more so, both tonight and historically vs the 49ers. We cannot defend their passing game. At all. Ever. To the point that I'd expect the better college rosters in the nation to do better. Not sure why we struggle so much against it. Although tonight, with almost all of our secondary injured, it does at least makes some sense for once.

Agree. They design plays to get rid of the ball before the pass rush can be effective. So the objective isn't necessarily to sack him but to push the pocket back and flood the passing lanes.

Also we are starting to see the lack of high picks making an impact. You don't see any young special athletes on this roster. It's filled with smart, sound players and high level veterans. The young guys are try hard guys that as I said, get by on smarts & fundamentals.

So no freakish athletes with high upsides and those are the guys you get in rounds 1 & 2.

Not saying it was wrong with what they did, afterall they won it all. Just saying we are starting to see the trade off and downside to that approach.

The problem is our offense. The O line didn't hold up well and I know it's early but Allen Robinson has done nothing in 4 games.

Without a secondary threat like Bobby Trees or OBJ, the secondary just gangs up on Cooper. Cooper is so good that he still gets open but we are one dimensional and ineffective that way.

Look at our offensive output. 10 against Buffalo, 31 against a weak Falcons team. 20 against Arizona and 9 against the whiners. The offensive output is similar to a Jeff Fisher team.

I know McVay will fix it but it's painful to watch right now and we got the whiners again in 3 weeks.

I knew before this game that if we stayed 10 yards off the receiver Crapola would dink and dunk us to death

17 points is a good game but I really believe that the 49ers would have gotten 0 points if we played tight man on half the plays like the 49ers were doing against us.

But once we lost Shelton, I knew we were doomed. Having both Evans and Kolone in the game killed us. The miscommunications were just terrible out there on the OL and I blame Evans for a lot of that. He just doesn't communicate with anyone. Even with Shelton in the game, we would probably lose. But Kolone just made it worse.

And everyone threw Goff under the bus when he threw that pick yesterday. Stafford threw an absolute terrible pass on his pick but it happens. Good QBs make bad plays from time to time. But man did it come at an inopportune time.

Glad you mentioned that Philly and it probably deserves its own thread. Though that would also be a bitch session and we have enough of those going on already. :laugh3:

If nothing else, at least it gives our guys to get a pick, and maybe a pick 6 like they got on us playing tight. That's the kind of thing that can shift the momentum in a game like this. Everybody but Morris and his disciples can see that.

.

Here's the difference.

The whiner defenders easily beat the blocks on the perimeter. The Rams defenders couldn't do shit against the blockers.

That's why the whiners catch and run plays work and the Rams pitch plays get negative yardage.

The Rams look content while the whiners looked hungry.

Watched some of the game after it ended....I think we found the perfect poster for a Prison break, let's call it, LA Rams Offensive line. Man they looked bad.....no run game means the Rams play only one way. How is it that other teams don't play us like the 49ers? Don't say they have an elite Defense, because they don't.

losing miller has been pretty big... our pass rush is no where near the end of last year.
But when every QB is getting rid of the ball on average 2.2 seconds, it is almost impossible to get to the QB.

Cmon Morris - change your game plan where you are playing aggressive D from time to time. I would be okay if we manned up half the time and back off half of those times just to confuse the QB.

I wasn’t able to watch thee entire game. I stopped at halftime due to more important things, but I really want to watch it in its entirety when they have a replay. We only gave up 24 points though without starters is decent to say the least. 9 points tells me we kicked fgs all game. I am not venting too much today, but our OL is atrocious our offense is too 1 dimensional. Stafford to Kupp all game is getting old, we got no running game. We have to really get back to the board and start figuring out what we need to do to get our offense going. This team needs to find its identity before its too late. Again though Shanny owns McVay, but hopefully we got a team that can make it deep into the playoffs, but right now that may be asking too much. Onto the next week.

The biggest game changing play was rapp whiffing on dweebo. How is it possible to miss a player who has his back turned to you and is falling back to his feet after catching a ball? Horrible. A cut candidate.

That play was a killer at the time. Sure the pick 6 ended the game for the Rams but the offense was crap the whole game so it was not unexpected. Are we sure Stafford wasn't a whiner fan when he was younger?

I’m just curious… why isn’t Ramsey a cut candidate after getting run over on the same play?

not really the same.... Deebo had his back turned to Rapp and was catching his balance.

against Ramsey he was running full speed in the open field.

Yah but Ramsey gets paid like he's super human. He should have made the tackle IMO.
