I wasn’t kidding about Tutu. If this was the minor leagues, like triple AAA baseball with teams sponsored by the big league teams, e could send him down to the minors to work on his game and then call him up when he’s ready. As it is, I doubt we see anything from except maybe in preseason.
I really don't know why this isn't a thing. So many players don't ever get a shot because they are stuck 5th or 6th on the depth chart

But are they using more than one stadium? That field's gonna be in some poor shape for the later game if they don't!
Edit: Yup. All at Protective Stadium, Birmingham, AL. Hope they're "protective" of the turf.

I thought I had read two stadiums ... both in Birmingham.

The USFL & the XFL (which starts next year) split the country. USFL is all east coast centric. XFL is the western US and actually has ties to the NFL to collaborate on rules, equipment, etc. The USFL from what I can see is basically a glorified college game, i.e. semi-pro league.

Because of the NFL ties, I expect the XFL to be more in line as an NFL minor league. I think teams will mine the XFL in the same way that some teams comb the CFL. Because the rules and style of play are going to mimic the NFL, what the scouts see will translate better. As that aspect becomes more apparent, I think the better undrafted talent will migrate to the XFL seeing it as a better way to showcase their talent. Because of that aspect, I expect the XFL to have better longevity. It's a model that will allow the league to set up in Europe and perhaps Australia or Mexico and be the NFL's international minor league.

Shit there is a thread in the main forum?

Well good to see something out there and I think this will eventually start taking some share away from the NFL with them trying to shove politics down your throat every 30 seconds.

Good to see Perez out there doing his thing!

Yeah. I have liked spring football. The AAF and XFL recently. I enjoyed the USFL game today, but the players in general didn't feel like they were as good as the other two recent leagues. It's just one game though.

Really? I thought they were better than the AAF, but never got to see the XFL, so I don't know. about that defunct league. The game I saw today showed kickers that couldn't make an NFL squad, nor were the QB's NFL caliber, but there was some talent out there. Definitely a good start with a development league for the NFL.

The Poor USFL, the NFL boosted them once and now they will do it again. More will watch the XFL because they will have their NFL players IMHO. That's cool though, go Battelhawks.

They now have formally announced the partnership between the XFL and the NFL.
That's a pretty disingenuous statement, as the “NFL Alumni Academy” is hardly the NFL, it is a training platform for free agents looking to make the NFL.
While a feather in the cap for the Rock and the XFL, it is a far cry from a partnership with the NFL itself

Yes. Really. I watched a lot of AAf, because they had a Phoenix team.

It's just my opinion. I don't remember noticing poor play and execution like we have the last few days. Lots of missed tackles, snaps that were mishandled, etc.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still gonna keep watching. I like spring football!

Dig deeper there is more to this cooperation. Rule change trials, equipment trials, health and safety data, as well as such things as sharing player and game data and game trends.

The way these leagues are set up bodes well for their longevity.
