Khan is going to lose that option if taken to court. He knows that. This is how he is trying to negotiate a buyout. It's the bass-acwards way of doing it. He could have negotiated the buyout at the time of firing Liar instead of continuing the clown show.

The Jax paper has already written an article on how Khan has no leg to stand on when it comes to firing Liar "With Cause". The article is damning as hell and shows solid evidence that Khan will completely lose that argument.

For those that don't know. Liar kicked their kicker Lambo back in August and it was reported to the Jag's legal department in August too. Khan decided then not to do anything about it. Only when it became public knowledge on the day he fired Liar at 12:30 am did Khan take action. Khan and the Jags actually requested that the Tampa paper who ran the story to delay it's printing. The paper did delay it for them, but only for several hours. You don't fire someone at 12:30 am unless you're in panic mode or your business runs a 3rd shift.

Liar is a complete piece of shit. He never should have been hired and he should have been shit canned with cause back in August. But Khan didn't want to admit his obvious mistake so quickly. He just crossed his fingers hoping for a miracle and instead the embarrassment just kept getting worse. Liar actually came out and said the everyone else and football are just too fragile today... that's his way of blaming this shit show on everyone else just like he has always done in the past.

The Jax paper and local sports talk are full on calling Khan the Worst Owner In Sports.

They all have NFL experience. None are known liars, or are condescending to players or coaches. It doesn’t take too much searching to find better NFL coaching candidates than Meyer. Many of us here who have followed college football predicted this would end badly for the Jaguars and we are not GMs or owners.

Success in the NCAA does not equal success in the NFL. If so then Nick Saban would be one of the all time great NFL coaches. Recruiting and coaching kids fresh from high school is totally different than coaching grown men and trying to build a roster under a cap. A college coach cannot come to the NFL and use his persuasive speech to convince the best players in the league that he can make them great.

One bad sign is that Meyers assistants would get sick of working with him and leave before landing other jobs. He wore on people. Plus his history of deceit does not paint a picture of a guy that can lead men much less turn a franchise around.

One example compared to countless College coaches that didn’t succeed in the NFL. Plus JJ didn’t have the rep of being a scumbag going into the league.

No doubt that there have been college coaches who also had success in the NFL.

BUT

There are more examples of failure than success.

Nick Saban is considered the GOAT of college coaches... he couldn't do it.

Steve Spurrier is a legend in the college ranks... failed in the NFL.


* I saw the Pete Carroll ref... don't forget he started in the NFL coaching ranks, went down to college coaching (cheated)... and then had to return to the NFL.

He started in College.

He was a GA under Lou Holtz at Arkansas in the late ‘70’s.

I think the jobs were more similar the further back in time you go.

Today... A college football coach has to devote an equal if not greater than equal amount of time to RECRUITING as he does to coaching if he wants to truly succeed. Recruiting HS kids and parents... the new Transfer Portal rules and NIL payments have just taken recruitng to another level.

While there is some recruiting that happens in the NFL with coaches... it is NOTHING at all like what is REQUIRED in college. The quality of players across the board are all generally high level in the NFL... college coaches don't experience that level of equality in skill level for the most part, they usually have a distinct advantage or disadvantage from game to game and that normally determines the outcome of their games. Coaching is obviously important in college, but not as important as having superior players across the board like we generally see with the top SEC teams like Alabama. The rules in the NFL try hard to prevent teams from being able to collect all the best players to one team.

They are two extremely different kind of jobs today. More so than it's ever been.
