With Honey Badger, we just need to secure an edge in the draft, CV depth, HB if one falls and OL/DL depth. Plenty of good prospects at our spots TBH.

If true, kind of annoying how into the comp pick formula they get.
I would not assume this guy ... Connor Hawkes ... has legit sources. Maybe ... anything is possible. However, if you visit his twitter-page, you will see that earlier today, he celebrated passing 400 followers. 400.

Personally, I will need a little more than Connor Hawkes reporting to believe stuff like that.

That's why I said IF true :)

From what I hear it was more about the guaranteed money than having to wait. The Colts are viewed as a long-shot contender with a pretty good team on both sides of the ball. Ryan is a good perhaps not great, i.e. elite QB so they should at least make the playoffs. Gilmore has a ring already so guaranteed money right now in which is probably his last contract would be hard to pass on.

The only problem I have with the honey badger is he is another Peters, i.e. he's prone to freelancing. It's why IMO he got cut from KC. When he views his personal stats above the team, that's a huge problem.

Not wanting to affect the comp pick formula is pretty standard procedure for the Rams. I don't buy this guy much at all but what he's saying absolutely sounds like what the Rams wanted to do.

I don’t believe this until I see the numbers. I gotta believe there must have been a difference in guaranteed $$$. If they were similar then Gilmore is dumber than Gronk looks.
As I said above, I don't believe this guy any more than the rest of you. As for the rest of your comment we'll never know and it could be as simple as he wanted the chance to be the main man in the secondary instead of being #2 to Ramsey. He was a DPOY and all these players have ego's. Combine the ego with what's rumored by a few people not just this guy to be a little more money and it makes sense he went to the Colts. We all can believe the Rams wanted to wait until after the comp pick wouldn't be affected and it makes more sense. We're also not ever likely to find out what the Rams offered so everybody will have to believe what they want to be the truth and we'll never know.

In Gilmore’s defense, Jim Irsay sent his private jet for him and really out on the full court press. That means a lot to some guys.

I said in other posts that I thought Gilmore was less likely than Matthieu or even Hicks tho I don’t get the Hicks play… unless Bobby Brown needs another year before being able to step up

I agree that the Rams may not want to sign any free agents before the draft to protect their 2023 comp picks. Jordan Rodrigue said that; and I consider her reliable. However, I don't know Connor Hawkes at all; and he reported @RamsNFL as his source but I don't see that comment (Rams offering a similar deal) on @RamsNFL.

IMO an edge is still more important and potentially more impactful than a CB or freelancing safety. I still feel an edge, OBJ, and Michel are coming after the draft. I think protecting their comp picks is important. Wagner was worth signing early, but I agree with the decision in regards to Gilmore who is a good, not great player. Wagner is a HOF level player so he's worth the comp pick impact.
