I feel a little bad rooting against this guy, but the “good news” just keeps rolling out of SF.
Me; this dude’s accuracy is going to be his downfall.
When you start pumping up the rookie by saying “Garappolo had bad throws too” you got to wonder…

Trey Lance tossed a "wobbler" of a pass downfield to wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who caught it while going against safety Jared Mayden for a would-be 50-yard touchdown. (Bay Area News Group)
According to Cam Inman's quarterback report, Jimmy Garoppolo was 6-of-11, and Lance was 6-of-10 during team drills. There were no interceptions, but linebacker Jonas Griffith came close to picking off Lance. It wasn't the rookie's only miscue.
Jacob Hutchinson (KNBR) noticed at least four poor throws from Lance during the Friday session, including under-throwing wide receiver River Cracraft down the left sideline. Hutchinson also notes near interceptions of Lance passes by defensive end Arden Key and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
The head coach was not too concerned.
"You don't have to get on him too much," Shanahan said. "When he doesn't have a good throw, he knows it as much as anyone. I just like that he keeps firing it. I mean, some are going to be good, some are going to be bad, but the more you get reps, the more you get your feet under you and know where you're going, the more consistent that will be."
Hutchinson clarified that Lance's day was not full of mistakes.
"To be clear, Lance also had some flawless, dart throws, which he's done in every practice, including OTAs," the KNBR writer wrote.
No one was perfect. Garoppolo had his own mistakes on Friday but did show a great rapport with wide receiver Mohamed Sanu on a couple of passes on slants over the middle.
