Horrible injury that will haunt him a lifetime with arthritis. Another case of Todd Gurley. So sad
My, aren't we a little ray of sunshine.

I see this is your second post.

Was your first post so full of optimism?

Hate it for Howard. Never good to lose anybody that was looking like a starter. Opportunity knocks for the next guy.

See what shakes loose in the cuts... but yep, sounds like Kenny Young is getting the chance.

Something doesn’t add up here meniscus tears aren’t acl tears. He could have surgery rehab and be back playing in 5 weeks at that level. Either way good luck to him and his recovery

Thanks, I didn't realize that.

There should be a television show, "Are you smarter than a sports writer?". :)

Kenny Young next man up, better athlete, however, still will be a liability in coverage.
First NT Robinson now WS ILB'er Howard....

Young is far from being what we need in this defense. He will not start for long. DC Staley will end up playing much more DB's with only 1 ILB'er or much better defenders will come from the edge unit to inside or rookie Clay Johnston will just move in & make plays all day.

I don't think Clay is ready to play yet. On Hard Knocks, he was struggling to pick up the defense and he just looks so small in comparison to the other LBs.

No doubt your correct mostly due to the major knee injury event last season.

I also agree he is not where he needs to be in size & physical development. Sooner or later he will be a starter in this defense or on another NFL team....and he will be good. Lucky for the Rams this D will be good & when Johnston is ready he will help it be better.

Run of the mill meniscus tears are about 3 weeks or so for average working Joes... I've had 3 of those fixed...But my understanding is that they can be pretty much be destroyed though, and worst case have to be replaced...That's a different beast...Of course I'm not an M.D. so I could be talking out of my ass...

Sucks for Howard, I thought him and Kaiser would've made a pretty good young ILB duo. Now yea I hope Young gets the nod as well. At least he's a great athlete at LB, even if he is raw. If I see Reeder starting at ILB this year again I'll be cracking the whisky much earlier than normal.

2 years in a row though? Howard was coming along well at the end of last season.I guess I don’t recall the injury as that bad. He has been hurt or on the mend most of his Rams career. He bulked up from his rookie season & shows his speed. To me he has seemed a little short in pass coverage.

Tough loss - Young seemed to be in The Rams Dog House last season for some odd reason. Corbett started right away.

Special teams will be interesting to watch who is stepping up.
