Is it possible we take another look at Nate Holley now. He was the rookie of the year in Canada and we have some experience with him.

Boo, was just thinking how I liked the diversity of possibly having Howard and Kiser both on the field. Thought they’d compliment each other well at ilb. Oh well, next man up. Hopefully next man isn’t Reeder.

IMO our "ILBs" are going to be Kiser / Rapp. Rapp was exceptional in run support last year and he can cover far better than the rest of the LBs.

Only exception to that will be the best run games. And even there I don't know that any of the ILBs will be better than Rapp in run support. He's not a stack and shed guy, but his instincts and ability to quickly diagnose help him there.

I know we will do that frequently, but I'm not sure we're going to use that set up as much as we did under Wade. Rapp needs to be on the field, and he surely will as now he's the starting safety along with JJ.

But honestly I'm not so sure that putting an extra safety, who would be a rookie.....or one of our smaller Nickel CBs, which all of them are smaller..... I'm not so sure that using those type of formations as much as we've done is the past is the a better option that using an ILB that can play the pass, and withstand downfield blocks in the run game. That was a problem for us. Late last year when Howard starting getting more time on the field, and we used 2 ILBs more, we seemed to be a more stout defense.

We do have versatility to use a variety of formations which is a good thing, but I'm hoping that we keep our ILBs on the field more under our new DC.

Horrible injury that will haunt him a lifetime with arthritis. Another case of Todd Gurley. So sad

I wonder if Natrez Patrick is an option to move back to ILB. Looks like he's put some size on, and I've seen where he may be ahead of Jaccahi Polite at OLB so he's probably going to stay there

Yeah what happened to Patrick playing ILB? He flashed big last preseason as OLB, right? I heard something about him working with ILBs earlier this offseason, then nothing.

I believe you answered that yourself... He has only flashed as OLB.

He might be showing well this season at ILB (maybe media types haven't noticed him) but even if so we probably won't know until the regular season.

Didn’t the Bears give him a tryout recently? If he is still available AND affordable he might be worth a consideration from the Rams!

the rams are trying to become a better run defending team. how does ogletree fit into that plan?

.

Real shitty situation this as he looked like a good replacement for Littleton.

Any news/thoughts on Clay Johnston? I had (have!) hopes that he will make the Rams final roster this year and possibly earn a starting role one day in the future. Am I dreaming??? Just really like his FIRE & ATTITUDE!!! Will never forget his reaction to the phone call he received on Draft Day!!!

I think the plan is to redshirt Clay Johnston--- i.e. let him fully recover from a college knee injury and let him get physically stronger and bigger.

Not looking forward to Reeder playing. Every time he makes a tackle, its for a 5 or 7 yd gain. he rarely makes a tackle for a loss.
