I would like to see a sticky (is that what you call it?) thread once training camp starts that Coach O and others that attend camp to post their camp reports. And only allow others to post questions about what is going on with camp for those who get to attend and have the knowledge to report.

I for one look forward to Coach O's camp reports and the reports from others as well. It would be nice to have one place to go and read about camp and not have to sort thru any debate about what someone reported. I am all for the debating, but start a new thread and leave the camp reports just that.

What say you?

I love the idea. But I think the author thing would be great. I know some people prefer coach Os reports so if they want to read just his, they can. Maybe take a vote?

I don't think there ever is any debate on here about what is reported. Now at Ramstalk every nugget is dissected. This forum is not the same.

I agree about the "other" place, but I have seen some get after Coach O and others here because they didn't agree with their opinion. I for one don't want to read thru that to get the good camp reports. I like the idea that each camp reported gets their own sticky and we can ask questions.

but I have seen some get after Coach O

.....Get after Coach O??!!

I like the idea of a sticky for all the camp reports but not the restrictions on the posting. I think the opinion that matters the most is Coach O and anybody else who takes the time to write up and post for us reports about TC. Let them decide what can and can't be posted.

Not sure we can give those kinds of permissions to non-moderators. I will post this thread to the other mods and admins to see what they might want to do on this.

Seems like a good sticky to put up. Maybe we replace the stadium thread in the stickied area. I know we don't like to have too many stickies up at one time.

.

wouldn't it get kind of confusing melding all the reports with all the questions together?

i would think it's much easier to keep them separate.

Part of the problem is that we don't want a bunch of stickies at the top of the forum. Also not sure who all will actually be attending camp this season. @CoachO - are you going? Anyone else attending?

We are starting to discuss the idea now so it's a good time to get your opinions and suggestions in. We will try to do what seems to check the most boxes.

Personally, I don't find much of a problem with doing it the way we've done it in the past. Any member attending camp can post about it. There are several ways members can keep up with it - watching it, posting to it so it shows when something is added, and generally, I think those threads stay up high in the cue until they have timed themselves out via the next one being put up.

Still though, I don't mind trying something else.

you're 100% correct. it was always nice to see a new camp thread.

So will camp reports just be one big sticky? Or will you do it like Day 1, Day 2 ect.?

I think we are actually going to leave it as it has been in the past. It seems that letting anyone who goes to TC write a thread will prevent confusion on who is replying to whom. One big thread would have the potential of getting muddied pretty quickly.

I'm sure if anyone clicks on "new posts" it will be right there for them.

I have another idea that I just thought of. Stay tuned.

create a separate sub-forum just for camp reports, and questions about those reports? One the camp attendees can start a thread in the sub-forum?

Working on something like that. We'll see. We don't want a bunch of forums for everything but maybe we have it take the place of the draft forum for now. Personally, I'm not real big on draft talk this time of year or until the season is over really.
