Just repeating, but if Stafford is as great as we make out, they shouldn't need any offensive additions.

This comes after watching a replay of Baker Mayfield playing so well this past Sunday with his 4th, 5th, & 6th string WRs (Egbuka got hurt early) and backup RB.

Baker Mayfield playing his A game, dude definitely is making do with what he gots.

I don't know what they have in mind......they always seem to make a move when they think we have a good shot at the whole enchilada. So who knows what they're gonna do. TE? CB? We have the #5 offense and #8 defense right now. Is there someone available who is going to make either drastically better? Without breaking the bank?

The only thing that would make the offense markedly better was if they added a stud all-pro center. However, you are not going to find that at the trade deadline. Nor would you try to incorporate a new center in the middle of the season.
I mostly agree, but do feel that an explosive weapon with size would also help. Think Tutu Atwell 3" taller and 40 lbs heavier. It seems Stafford struggles with small targets.

Yes, but Baker's mobility got the Bucs that crazy 3rd and 14 where he weaved thru defenders and made that first down that really hurt the whiners.

If only we had a chance to draft one recently…….hmmm ;)

Just looked and only name I saw that I wouldn't mind trading for.....Trevon Diggs. Problem with that would be the compensation. Shit the options are start shit honestly. Think the Rams made a huge mistake not trying to improve the secondary. Everyone knew it was a weakness.
100%. It was my #1 in the draft. But we needed a 4th TE more??

Baker has been electric to watch this year and certainly should be in the MVP convo to this point.
That team has escaped with some wins, but, that O....when they get their pieces back could be scary.

Can you just throw the damn ball to Terrence Ferguson please.
Watching Detroit move LaPorta around pre snap in the red zone (see our playoff game where they motioned him out and back to end up matched up on Reeder) to create mismatches.....I don't see any reason this cant be done with Ferguson. A TE like that, with his size, against any LB should be a very winnable mismatch.
Ferguson is getting more work week by week.
I hope after the bye he gets more involved in the passing game.
It appears Hunter is not close with pass protection.....but, who knows? Maybe we will see him after the break.

Trade for an offensive weapon for Stafford and McVay to underutilize? They need to better use the guys already on the roster.
To be fair outside of puka, Tae , and to a degree tutu they don’t have any real talent to be honest … im not a beliver in whit or Konata … we need some real talent

I think Xavier has shown more big play potential than the other two, but, way too early to judge either I think.
Also.....talent, meaning what?
Whittington fits the mold of that physical, good blocking, do he dirty work sort of receiver McVay loves in his offense. Can Mumpfield turn into a solid possession sort of receiver. I think he can. But, to say a guy cant do whatever after literally a handful of reps seems way too quick of a judgement to me.
No team is going to have 5 or 6 deep pro bowlers at any position and depending on the position may not want that.
Lack of depth is one of the biggest issues for every team in the NFL.
If you were to try and add "real talent" that would be available in a trade realistically.....who would you want to get?

Ya I don't care anymore if they're not 100% ready--what rookie ever is??--yet most of the TE's drafted around him are already playing & contributing. Same with the RB's drafted around Hunter--Tuten already has a TD for Jax. We're gonna see him live this Sunday while Hunter rides the bench.
McVay just needs to trust his players more. I mean I get it, Ferg & Hunter would take snaps away from the 2-3 players above them, but they gotta get more involved somehow because they were drafted for their "explosiveness", which is what we're currently lacking, especially in the RZ.
