McSnead cajones >>>> RatboysWhat I choose to believe, whether it is true or not, is that the Rams were not at all interested in CMC, but got into the bidding to drive the price way up for the 49ers. That thought makes me smile.

Would be nice but he's a rookie with literally no game experience. I'm going to give the guy time to get acclimated before trying to judge if he's good or not.All this RB talk just reminds me that we did draft a RB that seems like a perfect fit for our system. He just cannot stay on the field past ONE special teams snap. That said, he's rumored to be back soon. Just wish we could have seen him play at all in the preseason to have some inkling of an idea what we have in him.
That Sony trade was bad process lol. If we trade more for Hunt I'll be okay but trading high picks for players teams won't even have the next year is no buenoFor a RB like him, this is what it will take. We traded a 5th and 6th with a possibility it could become a 4th for Sony Michel and he's an inferior RB.
The offense is death*. There i fixed it lolThat's a great way to put it ...![]()
But that makes trading for Hunt even more puzzling. We can't really afford to extend a vet RB, that likely wants paid.
Yeah but we shouldn't stand pat either. We need reinforcements and a RB that is a dual threat and can pass block so Stafford doesn't get killed is a good add in my eyes. That Sony trade was bad process lol. I wouldn't mind D'Ernest Johnson either if the asking price is crazy for Hunt. Not sure who you are answering, but since your post followed mine by a couple of minutes, I'll just add this :
I'm personally not interested in Hunt, I've been expressing my hopes for D'Ernest Johnson.
Sure sounds like it, although it could be that teams know the Rams need to dump him and are only offering draft swaps with little to no value so he figures either offer a real trade or Akers can rot on the bench for all he cares....That's coach talk for, Nobody really wants him.

I'm not necessarily worried about that part yet lol, but would him signing elsewhere get us a comp pick? If it does, I say go for it. Besides, the RB free agency market gonna be deep and the NFL devalues his position. I doubt he gets a huge offer.IMO, it's not just Cleveland's asking price, but I doubt we'll want to pay his higher CAP costs for that new contract. jmo.
So those teams with good offenses, O lines and QBs, only need to be pressured in order to be defeated? That's what we need most? How's that been working for the rest of the league?
To be perfectly honest we shouldn't waste any draft capital on an edge rusher. Our bread & butter, calling card and identity under McVay has been our offense. We had a terrific D in 2018. How'd that turn out?
The way you beat the Kansas City's and Buffalo's is outscore them. I realize that's going to be tough to accomplish unless we have a distinct turnaround of O line play but don't fool yourself into thinking an edge rusher pressuring Mahomes or Allen is going to win the game.
And if he's lost to free agency and we still get a comp pick of some nature in 2024, do you really believe that he alone will drive us successfully thru the play-offs this season ? And if we lose him, we would still only have 1 RB next year, the completely untested Kyren Williams as all our other guys hit free agency. At what expense do you see his half-season rental being worth it ?I'm not necessarily worried about that part yet lol, but would him signing elsewhere get us a comp pick? If it does, I say go for it. But be honest here River the RB room is not good for the here and now either. And since we're on the eve of a massive divisional game that will help determine whether we are in things this year, the complete lack of threat from this backfield is a problem. And has been a problem. The reason a RB makes sense now is that every one of them outside of Williams will be entering free agency once the season ends. I'd rather not be in a position where we need to use more than 1 draft pick in order to restock.
Gotta take a risk somewhere. That's how we won it all last year. And if he's lost to free agency and we still get a comp pick of some nature in 2024, do you really believe that he alone will drive us successfully thru the play-offs this season ? Apparently the Von Miller syndrome is running rampant.
