I backed it up with Ratios and a reference to the article posted here. So I clarified what I meant, so you better understood and you continued to talk about value, endlessly.

You disagreed with a fact. I pointed that out and a simple, “ah now I understand what you mean” would have sufficed.

He's a twenty-four-year-old edge rusher who has dominated on some very bad Carolina teams. He's absolutely worth two firsts and then some, and unlike with McCaffery, Burns will likely get them, even if one or both are future picks.

I gotta disagree, he's not worth 2 1st round picks (only QBs or a defensive wrecker to me are), but it could get there if there is a bidding war. I'd say a combo of a 1st, 2nd and another pick should do it, but Carolina may not even keep this guy around if they are rebuilding. Carolina is smart to ask a high price. Burns may not want to be part of a rebuild and could possibly leave in FA. My offer would be next year's 2nd, 2024 2nd, and 2024 3rd plus a 2024 6th (this one to piss Snead off lol). I'd try not to give up a first if possible but I guess I could be talked into it too hahahaha

Carolina said the EXACT same thing with CMC and didn't get 1 1st. In Burns case it will take a first. My question is where we will likely be picking high 20s at a minimum you think you will find a Brian Burns level player very doubtful, so the first rounder given to the Panthers is ok, it is the additional draft picks and the cost to pay him down the line that is the cost in the deal.

Yes in the playoffs we would greatly benefit from edge help and it can be argued that an upgrade is mandatory. Right now as we stand we don't have a playoff caliber offense, hopefully the returning players help and they will, how much is TBD.
O.L help or a dynamic offensive player seems to be the approach, O.L is difficult mid season and there aren't many dynamic RB's available.

The hardest thing to find at the trade deadline is top OL players ones who can make a difference. It is mostly RBs, WRs, LBs and sometimes OLB/Edge players not usually good QBs or OLmen unfortunately.

The thing the Panthers may need to realize is that Burns may say I don't want to play for you on his next contract which then leaves them high and dry. Only Burns can make that happen by his agent letting management know so Burns will be dealt.

He was pretty good but dominant is not a word I'd ever heard used to describe him until today. I like him as much as the next Rams fan but dominant is a bit much for a guy who's career high is 9 sacks and only had 2 games in his career with 2 sacks.

Almost thirty sacks at his age? Considering how bad the Panthers have been? Yeah, I'd say he's dominant.

Burns is the guy that you do whatever it takes. He is the guy that the AD torch goes to I know he is no AD but you can still be relevant and he still ascending.
I do want Burns in the worst way as you guys know him Sweat or Chubb.

That said the eagles are flushed with picks aren't they? They have the Saints pick this year and theirs too I believe. They can easily outbid us. Burns would have to want LA as was mentioned by someone above. This is rough to pull off. If burns wants LA great but if he is indifferent then we need to pray that Carolina sees some value in some of our players. Like tutu Akers etc.

The Los Angeles Rams didn’t land Christian McCaffrey, but they’re showing interest in another one of their star players. According to Jeremy Fowler, the Rams are among the teams who have called the Panthers about pass rusher Brian Burns.

Fowler shared that bit of news on SportsCenter Saturday, with the Eagles and Chiefs being two other teams that have inquired about the edge rusher. He also said that one NFL GM told him the Panthers are looking for at least two first-round picks for Burns.

The Rams would have a hard time coming up with that sort of compensation, seeing as they traded their 2023 first-rounder to the Lions in the Matthew Stafford deal. And part of the reason the Rams missed out on McCaffrey is they lacked a fourth-rounder in 2023, which the 49ers had.

Burns is the top edge rusher who could be traded before the Nov. 1 deadline, and it’s understandable that he’d take a massive haul for any team acquiring him. He’s had nine sacks in each of his last two seasons and already has four in six games this season.

The Rams desperately need pass-rush help but Burns might be out of their price range unless the Panthers come down on their asking price.

I’m not as worried about the draft picks as I am about Burns being the right guy, if that makes sense.

We’d be putting a lot of eggs in the Alaric Jackson basket.,.. but the team-build for the next two years would be in good shape, imo.

Still need a real RB, tho.
