Burns is not just one dimensional though he is excellent at containment and sealing the edge he is an all around star.

I want burns 100% but if it's not possible I would be ok with in order:
Chubb
Sweat

However Burns is my dream come true.

We've only got a couple more years with prime AD, Jalen, Stafford and Kupp.

We're all in for this year and next before the window likely slams shut. We've already been lucky enough to win a super bowl, which means we are playing with house money.

This isn't the time to hold onto picks. Fuck them picks and grab what will help us best. Edge, IOL and RB. Go get them.

Damn, did I drink too much or take a few too many rips?.. but what are we even talking about anymore in this thread? Haha.
Yeah, this thread has gotten a bit kooky entertaining but kooky, frustration has set in.

Here's what I would do:

2023 second round pick, 2024 first round pick, 2025 first round pick, 2025 fourth round pick, Chatarius Atwell, and Taylor Rapp to the Carolina Panthers for Brian Burns.

2023 sixth round pick to the Cleveland Browns for D'Ernest Johnson.

2023 seventh round pick to the Mnnesota Vikings for Oli Udoh.

Cam Akers and 2024 sixth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Andre Dillard.

Is that a lot of trades? Sure, but they're trades that make sense.

That’s way too much for Burns, imho

id still be thrilled if we got him, but I think thats too much

Well, apparently Burns has become Lawrence Taylor and thus we must trade everything for him.

Looking at recent trades.. two firsts should absolutely be more than enough for Burns.
Jalen took 2 firsts and a 4th and was a legit superstar.
I do wonder, though, with the spike in trading triggered by the Rams, whether Burns may go for more.

The question becomes whether Carolina feels a need to move him. Maybe he doesn't want to be part of the coming tear down.
If he tells them he's not signing there, no matter what, they may feel like they have to.

They're on track for the #1 overall pick and desperately need a QB. They have multiple 2nd and 3rds.
It's just hard to say.. and it's REALLY hard to replace a guy like Burns.

Jerry Hughes is actually fucking crushing it and would be an AMAZING addition. Theoretically... you'd think he's a low-round pick.. but with how cheap he is, the fact that it's a one-year deal, and that he's kicking ass at a premium position? I think it will take a third to get him.

Maybe they'd take a young player in addition to a pick?

He sure as hell did, but Alaric Jackson is on the cusp on being on the better LT’s.
Wait..... What?? I love AJ, but how many career starts does he have? Lolz.

We need Flo to unfuck himself. That's what we need. If the Rams give 2 future firsts for Burns I will be sick. Hunt makes the most sense to me. We have nothing even resembling a running game atm.

And he has a $16M salary next yr and will be due a huge deal after that. If he was an absolute star like Ramsey, that's one thing, but not sure he is close to that.

This team needs quality cheap labor in the form of high draft picks.
What makes this salary of Burns look good is our current overpaid best edge rusher Leonard Floyd will have a cap hit in 2023 of $23 million. I am sure the Rams can not afford to make a trade like this with so much cap invested in 2 ER's that are not that good.

Snead could get out of that contract but he will face a $19 million Dead Cap in 2023. Not really a smart thing to do.

With the lack of pass rush being produced by our 3 ER's & the amount of cap invested in Floyd alone I do not see any ability to go into a trade for Burns where not only does his cap hit kills the team the cost in draft capital is far out of line.

Sneads best move at this time for the future is once again to retry the NFL draft to attempt to add the pass rush back into the ER room. Rams will have to keep Floyd till the end of his contract & face the fact it was a very bad decision to restructure his contract this past March & just play with the results as is. Rams will be paying millions for yrs after Floyd is retired.

I think this is very likely.
Most ownership interested in winning (not all of them are) think they are just a key player or two away and a coach away from turning it around.
Trading a high salary oft injured running back....that makes sense. Trading a young developing pass rusher doesn't make sense if you think you are close.

I seen KC isn't playing Clyde Edwards Helaire today. I don't think he's hurt so it makes me wonder if maybe he might be getting traded and the team trading for him asked KC to not play him. If so maybe it's us. He seems like a McVay type RB.

Yep, I could see a Edwards-Helaire Cam Akers swap that is very possible.

I like Burns well enough, but No Way am I trading 2 firsts for a guy that hasn't ever hit 10 Sacks in a season. As @OldSchool pointed out, his production is good (Sacs/Game), but not 2 Firsts Plus, good.

Four starts @ RG. LT ? Alaric Jackson has not started any games @ LT but he has finished 3 games @ LT. When AJ has lined up @ LT he has played exceptionally well. AJ played LT throughout college. AJ has started LT in almost all the preseason games since his arrival & also played very well.

AJ was thrown into a chaotic OL mess & played well @ RG would you say that merits some positive future hopes?
