If we get cooks for Akers and Houston picks up the check....maybe. It would have to be for little resources so they could get what they really need. WR isn't one of them.

I do not understand the alleged interest in a journeyman WR Brandon Cooks.:wow2::sur::not::thinking::eyeroll::yawn::sleepy:

McVay WR room is one of the best-blended units on this team. Besides the veteran Kupp/Robinson as starters McVay has his young 2020 & 2021 top draft selections 2nd rounders Atwell/Jefferson. Then there is Ben Skowronek& Brandon Powell who have been productive in this offense thus far. Other young prospects are Lance McCutcheon/ Jacob Harris & Austin Trammell who have flashed at times in the preseasons.

Is it because Snead/McVay 2020/2021 top selections have been major busts/Failures?

It is the RB & ER units that are unproductive & lack talent.:dizzy::emergency:

Wheeling-And-Dealing Los Angeles Rams Are Eyeing Kareem Hunt In A Trade To Bolster Anemic Run Game

The Los Angeles Rams lost out on acquiring running back Christian McCaffrey. They don’t plan on missing on Kareem Hunt.

The Rams, according to various reports, are front-and-center in trade discussions with the Cleveland Browns for the talented-and-versatile Hunt.

The Browns are eager to peddle Hunt, who asked for a trade during this summer, as he’s poised to become a free agent after the season. With standout back Nick Chubb in their stable, Cleveland seeks to build its draft capital for next year by moving Hunt this year.

L.A. is all ears as its rushing game has been the equivalent of running with two left feet.

Cam Akers was to be the bell-cow but he squawked over his usage with coach Sean McVay. Darrell Henderson, the Rams’ lead back, has just two rushing touchdowns and 181 yards.

Akers, who won’t play again on Sunday against the visiting San Francisco 49ers, has landed in the Rams’ dog house.

Akers could be shed, too, but the Browns aren’t interested in another grumpy running back. Instead, they likely seek a fourth-round pick, which is a tad steep for a player tied to a club for just the remainder of the season.

But the Rams, the defending Super Bowl champions, have never been shy about burning picks for players with their win-now philosophy. That’s how they acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford, safety Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Von Miller, to name a few, and there’s little doubt L.A. is salivating about inserting Hunt into McVay’s offensive scheme for the stretch drive.

“I would say we are looking,’’ McVay said “We always look at a bunch of different avenues if we feel like we can upgrade our team as you know.’’

What’s clear is the Rams’ running game is stuck in quick sand. Among the reasons that Stafford has struggled this year is that he hasn’t had a rushing attack to keep defenses honest.

L.A. averages a measly 3.4 yards per carry, which is next-to-last in the NFL. It has scored just five times from the ground and has delivered but one carry for at least 20 yards. Just maybe help will arrive in Hunt, although not in time to face McCaffrey and the 49ers. But come Tuesday, which is the NFL deadline, Hunt could be headed for L.A to play out his two-year, $12 million deal. Hunt is averaging 4 yards per attempt for 263 yards and three touchdowns on 66 carries. He’s also caught 15 passes for 87 yards and a score.

“It doesn’t seem like anything is imminent,’’ McVay said earlier in the week. “But you never know with us, right?”

The knock on Cooks was concussion concerns plus too high a contract. He's shown he's healthy, and he's been productive (two straight years of a thousand yards for a very bad Houston team).

If the price is right, and OBJ is not a real option (it does sound like he has a commitment with the Bills, potentially), then giddy up.

If I had a voice involving this......I would be all in to get Hunt in here with Henderson & rookie Williams to be our top 3 runners for the rest of the season.

The big OL problem appears to be on the mend with the return of Brian Allen this week & the blending of Oday Aboushi /Havenstein on the right side working together. I wished that IOL'er Matt Shura would send LG #71 to the reserve unit but Carberry loves him some #71.

I do think that OG Oday Aboushi might be a keeper until Anchrum & Bruss can prove worthy of being a starter in the NFL& Allen & Shelton can prove to remain healthy.

It's way past time that Snead/McVay needs to address this RB room. Its been a problem for way too long.

I could maybe see Houston being interested in a WR swap with tutu - getting a younger WR with potential. While allowing a disgruntled Cooks to leave. Maybe also giving them a late round pick if they eat some money.

I still don’t see the Rams side of things. Unless VJ is worse off and his career is questionable going forward with this injury. And OBJ is not an option.

I wouldn’t give up anything more than a late round pick (6th) or two of them maybe for Hunt. I question whether he’s still the same player he was from a couple years ago. He seems to have dropped off and some downward advanced stats. Could be partially explained by less playing time idk.

For sure, I’m starting to doubt it as well. Actually I’d be really interested in the Browns Felton and Dearnest Johnson over the pricey and more than likely defunct Hunt. His speed (acceleration) is gone which is apparent watching him which many fail to realize since they don’t watch other games. Acceleration is what made Hunt special in the first place.

Absolutely no to Burns or Allen. If any, I’d give a 3 and 5 for Chubb, and I still don’t want to do that. But fun to my head that is my go to if our FO is going to pick up somebody.

Who is your edge opposite Floyd next year and how are you getting them?

No trade for a premier pass rusher but you'd be willing to give up draft capital for a running back?

Even if they get Chubb, it won't be him. He'd be a UFA bound for more money than the Rams have to give. So maybe they get the edge opposite Floyd with the Chubb comp pick or an earlier one. But of course the "we need to draft OL" crowd won't like that!!

Won't get a Comp pick for Chubb until the 24 draft

Just out of curiosity. . . Would anyone be interested in adding TJ Hockenson?

I know it's not necessarily a need. But he and Higbee in a two tight end set; both are very versatile players that can block, run routes, catch, and just get after it.

He'd be an interesting player to see Mcvay utilize as well. Could definitely be deployed in that FB role.
