That was pricey for Lattimore - I'm ok that we were not in on that.

Yeah, kind of what I suggested. I would be more disappointed if we were 6-2 and turned it down. They probably feel we are still a bit away to go after a guy who will be 29.

If he was 26 like Ramsey was in 19', then maybe.

And I think we could have also had great success not trading away so many picks and simply drafting players.
Look at the current results, lots of quality players with several special future Pro Bowl types.
The Rams did overvalue and sell out for that SB win at home. We did get it and it was fantastic.
But we could have very, VERY easily lost that game. It would been a monumental failure, letdown.
Its simply how I prefer my football team to be made up. Drafted players having long careers only playing with he Rams. Youngblood, Slater and Donald are my favorite players for that reason and all HOFers. But I do like that Stafford guy a whole lot.
We are not paying the price right now. But will when we are watching Goff winning big games when Stafford is gone.
I never liked the age difference.
And I will be happy for Goff when he wins the SB, he never did anything to us.
I never liked the old Redskin way of trading picks for vets and was worried we were always going to be like that.
Very happy the Rams are building through the draft.

I prefer to build through the draft as well.
Unfortunately it doesn’t always fill a need.

As far as Goff, I’m with you.
I love Stafford, but wasn’t very excited about the trade at 1st.
The age gap being the number 1 reason.

One thing this FO doesn't do. It doesn't lie to itself. This team is making big strides and could win the division. I don't think they think they are a player away from winning the SB. So no significant trades. I think they are content to let the young guys grow and see what the season brings. I think it also suggests that they think Stafford has a few more years left in him and they will pay him.

If healthy, We have another 4 or 5 years with Stafford Most Likely, so have to build this team through young guys. We can always grab another established Qb after Stafford if rest of the team is good and keep that window open.

I was hoping we could get a MLB in return for him.

I think 4-5 years is incredibly optimistic.

I would love it if he did, though.

Quite right!!! Some teams think they're loaded enough to win it all and some know they don't have a chance. I don't think ANY team really thinks they are a player away from winning the SB. They think a little more help in this area or that might help once they get to the playoffs. And you can't win it, if you don't make the tourney. Many times it's not the best team during the regular season that advances but the hottest team at the time. That's why your point "let the young guys grow and see what the season brings" is astute. Remember last year. Our defense was going to kill us but as the season transpired, they got better and better. So why not this year? We're halfway through and it's pretty clear we hit on our first two picks.....in a big way.....and a number of others in the later rounds. There is no reason, with health, we can't be a tough team to beat when it counts the most. It's quite possible we've turned the corner a lot earlier than we did in 2023.

This is what happens sometimes when you kick the tires on someone. We took a chance on White, it didn't work out. That happens sometimes. Its great we are able to get some small financial relief and move on quickly. You miss every shot you don't take.

If he can avoid the big injury, back, concussions, and my fear an achillies, he could play 4 yrs if he wants to.

35 plus year old QBs often get that achillies injury. Marino, Testaverde, Cousins, Rodgers, all come to mind. Hopefully they do exercises with him to help with the flexibility of that tendon.
